What Happens For Song Khran In Hua Hin

Featured Replies

what happens in hua hin for song khran...... i hear it will start 2moro evening (thursday 12th) and run to friday and by late friday night will have calmed down to a trickle......

someone said that Bintabaht was good fun and very busy with lots of alcohol and water

and also, outside market village was good in the day time, with people playing in the fountains

i was also advised to avoid using my motorbike, as this time of year was notoriously dangerous

can anyone confirm the above, and maybe share some of their ideas of the best places to go to experience Song Khran in Hua Hin??

Everything in your post sounds exactly correct going by previous years Songkrans.

Usually (I'm guessing this year as well) there is a Songkran parade with floats, pickups and lots of people going around town, tt does not go down Bintabaht though. I believe the route of the parade is something along the lines of it starting at the railway station, going down towards the intersection but turning left (I suck at roadnames) into the road that crosses the nightmarket in the middle, goes all the way to the end there and turns right down across the intersection and onto Soi 55 (Chomsin Road), goes all the way to the end there and then turns right at the pier going to Hilton.

One year we were walking with the parade and one year we were at a place on Soi 55, both were great fun. The parade is at such a slow pace so even if you walk with it you have plenty of time to stop and even sit down somewhere and see some of the floats pass by and then catch up again.
