First of all, I'd like to start this thread by congratulating the British pensioners on getting their own thread in the General Forum. Well done, gentlemen, all that incessant and interminable miserable whinging grizzling has finally paid off, and I am sure no-one is more happy than the rest of us.

But there are many other topics of rather limited general interest which are not so blessed. As I have posted on more than one occasion, there is no place for necrophilia on this forum, and still no-one takes any action to rectify this oversight.

What other interests or topics of intense but perhaps not widespread popularity do you think are inadequately addressed?

I noticed that, although the whole country was transfixed, there was no thread dedicated to the world curling championships.

there might have been...if the hurlers were in curlers...

oops, sorry as I confused curling with hurling...apologies...

^Which reminds me of another topic deserving of multiple threads - places where one can buy Leonard Cohen records.

seems like amazon would have the entire ouvre but you got to have a billing address in a western country to order anything from them...

one of my favorites which was part of the soundtrack for McCabe and Mrs Miller...the clip features one of the most brutal scenes in cinema...the genial cowboy gunned down by a snarling punk; he didn't have a chance...

Leonard Cohen's music was such an integral part of the movie that I can't imagine it without it...

Here's another good suggestion for a sub-forum in the Business section

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/545287-not-illegal-not-unethical-albeit-wrong-sub-forum/

"Not Illegal, Not Unethical, But Wrong" subforum

I could imagine that the rest of the business forum might wither and die...

necrophilia, as pointed out of course, has been little addressed in this forum.

As have crumpets.

Farang Pub seems to be full of chaps talking about food and catching seafowl.

Tarts and crumpet, snag a bird, where to go for free-range shags and cormorants...

Those of us with more carnal and base interests don't seem to be catered for at all...

Bloody ornithologists

Do you feel complete SC?

Not until Astro show the McTavish Cup in June. Its too early to check the schedules and see if its going to be on.

Let's hope its as exciting as the World Cup Curling...

And I could fair go a haggis supper with my irn bru this evening in front of the rugby.

as I've mentioned elsewhere, its Qatar v Lebanon in the Div. 4 final, and the first match of the Five Nations.

I'm going to rub sand in my eyes, turn the air con off, and pretend that I'm at the ground...

And of course, the between-match entertainment is the first outing for the Afghan Rugby Union, in a Sevens exhibition match against an Emirati Select. Only the UAE HKG game will be on Star Sports, though. But what a feast of rugby for my former colleagues in Dubai. I'd scarcely be surprised if some of them considered going...

Edit: Great news about the necrophilia thread, though, eh?

Yeah, all dead.

I watched 5 nations, Philippines clobbered Sri Lanka, div 1 final.

Like the filipino team, had invisible Filipino players, (read, spooks) players, most were NZ, OZ, HK expats and more......LOL

My Filipina wife was barracking excitedly, until she said, "There's no Filipinos."...... pmplmao.

EDIT: I should first have mentioned that there seemed to be a lot of ladies in the crowd for a rugby game...

Unusually for a rugby game, I imagine the crowd had to be segregated - wives & girlfriends

That's when they're together - some guys with wives, others with girlfriends.

When we used to visit the Philippines from HK - usually Bagio - most of the guys had to separate their wives from their girlfriends. But then we were a third division (Chinese development) rugby team in HK.

Although I am new to TV (and Thailand), it is very clear to me that Cricket is the obvious elephant in the room

Almost every thread I read mentions a problem (or problems) with Thailand (or the Thai people) that could be remedied by widespread participation in, and appreciation of, cricket, across the land

I also think cricket could be used to upgrade the existence of many non-enlightened expats

Is that lady divorced? That's the best news I've heard in ages.

Do you have her phone number?

Quite right about the cricket, by the way.

I watched the Thailand - China Ladies Cricket match from the Guangzhou Asian Games (on television, by the way)

China won, if I recall correctly, though quite narrowly

While women playing cricket is a great combination in theory, I am not sure how it works in practice...

If the women are playing, who is going to make the sandwiches and tea?

yeh its tough when women are too busy doing their own thing to worry about men. Such as having better things to do than making jokes about them. whistling.gif Guess the guys are just going to have to learn to be autonomous.

Sorry for the sexist joke... I won't do it again... by the way, excellent comeback... for a girl

I remember being on sandwich duty once when very young. You wouldn't want to know what went into those sandwiches; although someone must have found out as my sandwich making career came to an abrupt end. Lets just say it was a fine afternoon of entomology with culinary excerpts.
