Hello Guys and Girls

My partner has her visa expiring on the 3rd and she plans to fly to singapore for a 60 day tourist Visa.

Will she be in any trouble if she flys on that next day(the 4th)? As her visa expires on the 3rd.

Will there be any issues with getting another visa if she has to pay a fine?

Also what is the Singapore embassy / Consulate like for the 60 tourist Visa?

Kind regards

There will be a note in her passport if she owns up at Immi dep and pays a 200b fine.

Singapore is not noted for easy visas.

Penang would be better. :D

I would be tempted to just present my PP at Immi @ Don Muang and plead ignorance if the overstay is noticed, but I could be wrong. :o

I would always advise being safe and fly out before overstay or asking for an extension if not possible. All it takes is one person having a bad day to make your day worse when you overstay.

Singapore is not noted as being the friendliest Consulate although believe they are ok if paperwork is up to there standards.

Just a thought. Is it the VISA that expires or the entry stamp?

The reason I ask is that if your partner has a multi entry visa she can do a border crossing and get another 90 day stamp provided she enters Thailand before the 'use by' date on the visa.

last time in LOS came in on 30 day on arrival, on later examination found I was only stamped in for 29.

Went to immigration at Phuket, was told not to worry, only one day, on leaving LOS the immi guy didnt bat an eyelid, no fine no nuthin.

My understanding is that they give a 2 day grace period.

I missed a flight out of BKK once which caused a 2 day overstay.

Didn't raise an eyebrow upon leaving.

I don't plan on trying to arrange my schedule around that grace period.

After all TiT! You never really know.

Except that they really don't want us here. We are just barely tolerated.

Does that single day grace period only apply at the airport?

I've been fined a couple of times for one day over in Ranong. I'd never argue about it though.
