I Wonder If There Are Any Criteria, Ratings Or Guidelines For After Market Wheels And Rims, Eg., Like That For Tires

Featured Replies

Does any know where I can locate data about the criteria, ratings or guidelines for after market wheels and rims - eg., like that for tires - that buyers can use to select quality-performance 20" SUV wheels here in LOS?

It would be helpful if you put what SUV what year, model etc.

Until MRO backwards comes on :D this may help :-

Here I go again I find ' Cockpit ' have good knowledge of what you can fit to what and what is best, my local one does anyway. biggrin.png

...SUVs, in particular, the MU-7 and secondly, the Fortuner.

After market wheels can be a mine field as a huge amount are cheap Chinese stuff. Look at a wheel you fancy and do a Net search. Many designs only have a particular advertised usage and are hopeless for truck or SUV use. Be careful eh. smile.png .

Thanx!

Knowing next to nothing to begin with, I have been seeing all of these wheel mfg names that I had not even heard of before and I suspected something was was not copacetic.....

Lenso are a good make and made in Thailand, along with other makes they supply and have supplied to the Dakar rally and off road vehicle suppliers.

Also remember that the factory wheels are of a very strong construction to deal with what the ride was designed for. smile.png

....I agree this to be generally true, but - especially in the case of the MU-7: small brakes and puny 16" wheels - heeding past postings of you guys in this forum - KBB, MRO, etc., that some mfg 'cut corners' (to keep costs down) and, IMHO, come right up to the line of safe - non-safe, I am pursuing these corrective upgrades.

Lenso looks to have a series of wheels specifically designed for SUVs.

Thanks guys!

I have a set of Lenso, on my Triton and I'm very pleased with the quality, as you know lots of potholes on Thai roads and they

are fine.

Those wheels look sweet.....and oh yes, nice truck! thumbsup.gif

What model are your Lenso wheels?

You don't experience any sway or yaw at all?

No problems with handling, these are 20" I was advised not to go for 22" , I have no problems with these, cant remember the model of wheel, about 2 years old now.

as stated before, the two biggest local aftermarket factories who export 90 percent of their production are Lenso and SSW (Stamford Sport Wheels). Their quality is good, they export both to USA and Europe hence have the quality. No risk with these.

Your 20"ers look just fine! I think the name of your wheels are the Grande 5.

Good! I have noticed the Lenso brand in many wheel stores.
