What is a Russell Peter?

Russell Peters has spent the last three years setting attendance records around the globe; in 2008, he had the largest comedy show in UK history at London's O2 Arena with 16,000 fans in attendance. He repeated that same feat in 2010 at Sydney, Australia's Acer Arena, where he had the largest comedy show in Australian history with over 13,000 fans in attendance. In March of this year, Peters became the fastest selling concert in Dubai history. His two shows in Dubai sold-out in eight minutes - faster than Madonna.

A lady that i work with said she went to see it, and loved it very much

sorry to hear you missed it

Nope,

Sorry,

I'm trying to feel your pain in missing it.

But I can't. coffee1.gif

OK never heard of him before now but I like his humour. It is a wonder he was allowed in Australia as jokes concerning other races are strictly not allowed. They will quickly slam it as racist. I remember a couple of indian guys in australia dressed up as Michael Jackson and the Americans heard about it and there was a huge uproar branding aussies as racists. I guess he is not an Aussie so he can get away with it. He definately pushes the boundaries and has to be careful. Yes I like what I have seen.

That was the NAACP. So, more like un-American.

Watched the video. Sorry OP, didn't raise so much as a chuckle.

Out of the two of you, you are by far the funniest.

13,000 in Sydney? I don't think so. I wouldn't have thought there was that many Indian students there.

Never heard of the bloke but he just gave me a good chuckle. Anybody who can make fun of their own race is good in my books." Political correctness" is as boring as bat sh#t to me.

I would go and see his show and I know I would get a good laugh.

You might be suprised and lets not forget not all those that attend the show would be Indian.

Indo-Australians are citizens of Australia who are of Indian ancestry. They include both those who are Australian by birth, and increasingly, those born in India. They are one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in Australia.

The states with the largest Indian-born "Residents" were New South Wales (85,139), Victoria (82,957) and Western Australia (19,243). In 2011, 713,629 Australian "citizens" declared they had Indian ancestry, either alone or in combination with another ancestry. The Indian-born community it the second largest non-Anglo community in Australia after Chinese-born Australians. Ranks 3rd in immigrants behind Britan (1st) and China (2nd). In 2011 there were an additional 115,000 Indian Students studying at Australian tertiary institutions. This does not include short term student visa's (less than 12 months) and let's not forget the Indian tourists. Last year, 1,38,700 Indians visited the country. (Seems like a lot, but Aust was playing India in the cricket)

Yes 13,000 people attending the show is not unrealistic given the number of Indians living the country, studying or visiting.

This day and age, it's a growing difficulty for folks to have a good laugh about themselves.

So bladdy serious and have yet to get over themselves.

Threatened, offended, overtly sensitive.....usually not knowing why.

Sad.

Always liked him, since I saw a show (on DVD) in 2006.
