Look into Wang Saphung. It is about 20 km from Loei (Loei has a good hospital and even an airport ... Albeit at the moment only 1 flight per week to BKK). Land is available at a wide range of prices, but you should be able to find several plots that would fit your criteria.

Just read the OP for the first time.

The topic title asks the question "Where To Live In Thailand On My Budget"

And then says nothing about what that budget is apart from a one off deal on land.

It's a post designed to rattle the cages of the country boys.

Without any further info from the original poster, I'd just ignore this one.

Tambon Muak Lek in Saraburi is nice IMO. 20 KM drive to Tesco in Pak Chong. Nice waterfalls and not too far from Khao Yai national park. Nearest decent hospital would be around 42 KM to city center - a bit far I think.

Muek Lek....yes beautiful area and reasonable distance to ammenities....do you actually live there.

Lived there for 7 years. It was quite ok for me. I recommend it.

I was also wondering if the Unemployment Benefit for the OP was available in his home country - that may supplement his "War Chest"
