I have a 1 GB RAM stick in my desktop PC that looks like this:

It's not Kingston though. I just bought a 2 GB Kingston RAM stick and it's short, like this:

Is that a PC RAM stick? Will it work side-by-side with my 1 GB stick?

Having googled a bit I think I can answer it myself. The idiots at IT Mall have sold me a laptop stick even though I specifically asked for a desktop one.

OP~try going to crucial dot com and install their memory finder application. It will tell you what kind/s of memory will fit in your computer and what space/slot/s are available. Jot down that information - take it to the IT store and you can't go wrong.

The short one is for laptops, and no it will not work in your desktop.
