Sukhumvit To Rajamanagla Stadium

Featured Replies

I am at Asok right now and will go to the Rajamanagala national stadium for the lady gaga concert, I was given three different approximate times to get there, the lady on the phone said three hours and gave a complicated list of directions including changing from a bus, MRT, and taxi, but the hotel staff said about 30-45 minutes by taxi. Any locals have any experience with this? Much appreciated!

Thanks

A couple of minutes on the MRT, it can get pretty busy in the rush hour, five minutes from the MRT station to Makkasan Airport Link, go to the MRT exit furthest on the left in the direct of travel. Not sure how long to Huamark, I suspect no longer than 15 mins, the airport is only 30 mins, Huamark is the 2nd stop.

Another option if are adventurous, would be to take the Klong Saen Sab Express Boat at Petchaburi MRT station and get off at the Ramkhamheang University, which across the street from the stadium.

I've been to Rajamangala twice, both times for football matches and both times by motorcycle taxi. I was advised to do this by my Indian tailor who arranged one for me. His advice was spot on. The traffic was very heavy and the road heading to the stadium is not that big.I went from the Asia Hotel at Ratchathewi and it took about 25-30 minutes.

fwiw it took about two and a half hours to get from Asok to Rajamangala, every train was packed full and at HuaMak traffic was parked, and cost 150 baht by motorbike to get to the stadium

That's crazy, I suppose I should have advised you to go on the BTS to Phaya Thai and the joined the Airport Link at the start of the line.

My girlfriend was going to go via the Airport Link, I dropped her off at Ramkhamhaeng, the station before Hua Mark, she saw the crowds so didn't go on the train and got a motor bike from where I dropped her off, cost her 100 Baht from Ramkhamhaeng.

We went to the concert last night and I must say that considering it was a Friday evening and Bangkok, we got there and back without any hassle - good times!!
