I am now always on the lookout for roving Ladyboy gangs

I know where you could find one whistling.gifrolleyes.gif

So do I, they seem so helpful, asking " where you go"

I`ve managed so far to get home without their help.smile.png

Luckily my fellow TV members were able to counsel me through my dark days.

As some of the previous posters have mentioned ... a lot of the strength comes in the sub-forums, where people seek specialist advice.

For example ... I need a particular type of Medicine (drug) and asked about alternatives available in Thailand.

Within a day, I have some great replies.

Alternative Medicine options.

Photo of Medicine box from a Mod who was just posting to be helpful ... thumbsup.gif then

Sheryl ... chief honcho, explaining the family of Medicines and how mine related to the cheaper available in Thailand ... double ... thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

Great free advice ... no BS at all.

The Health forum does compelling and important work every day, illness is a part of life, and to be ill in a foreign country can be daunting. It's a great strength of TV that so many people spend time helping others through their health issues.

Not many people put down to many answers but here's my answers

News - I'm able to get more up to date news on things, topics, issues that happened recently along with various view points

March - April 2011 - Koh Samui Flooding

I can tell you from this one time having thaivisa and people posting in, helped more than anything else was during last year in march / april when we had major floodings on the island and people were putting in there posts on areas in samui that were heavy flooded or damaged areas, photos. By all the information coming in along with photos and details got a real sense just how bad it was.

So thats how having thaivisa at least helped me

Thaivisa has provided me with insights to Thai culture which I have not yet experienced, loads of visa information and even help on health matters. smile.png Also it has provided much amusement and made me feel like I'm one of the boys or something like that. tongue.png

You are one of the boys! thumbsup.gif

I found TV when the wife and i put in her settlement visa application and it was taking a long time. TV put my mind at rest when i found out it takes up to 3 months. I was on a ship working in the Caribbean. So as you can imagin it helped me no end. Even though her visa was rejected in the end.

TV also helped me find out about family permits. So i got myself drafted to Belgium and my wife is now with me. So if it wasn't for TV i wouldn't be working in Belgium and enjoying all the wonderfull Belgium beer with my new Belgium friends.

TV has also helped me on the computer and Thai tv issues i was having. Plus movie downloads. My wife now has Thai tv that keeps her happy when i'm at work and i have my movies, all thanks to TV.

A big thank you from my wife and i to all on TV and all that work to keep this forum running. You are all stars in my book. wai.gif

+1, the amount of help and expertise in this website is astounding.

We've mentioned it before ... and I believe the Sub or Specialist Forums are the strengths here.

The Photography Forum is a place that few here maybe venture to but do have at look at this current thread and the photos contained with ... some classics.

If you do venture there don't miss looking at koknia's post with an external link ... gorgeous photo!

Melted my heart ...

Good topic .

Most people have already mentioned the reasons that I find TV a great forum.

From finding something that's hard to find, to making friends that I know will be friends till the day I die, finding that I am not alone in my worries in dealing with life in a new country, and some members helping me overcome those obstacles.

Any queries on visa's have been addressed very promptly thanks to the moderators in those forums.

The only down side is that many people I got to know well have passed on. I know that death is a part of life, but I am still saddened by their passing, but then I would never have got to know them had it not been for George's inspirational idea to launch Thai Visa.

For that I will always be grateful.

Yes, think you have answered for the vast majority here. thumbsup.gif

The 'I drink too much' forum was part of the motivation for me doing something about my drinking

Yea me too,

after reading some of the threads there, I realized I was not drinking enoughlaugh.png

I always knew I was not drinking enough; I don't think that's feasibly possible. But I had realised some time earlier I was drinking too much...

Anyway, it's also helped my literary skills, and encouraged my enjoyment of the sport of rugby, much to everyone's dismay.

And I am constantly learning new things - partly from the research I do to support my own wild assertions; for example, that Denis Compton was spelt with two Ns, and that his kneecap was kept in Lord's' Museum. Of course, most such information I forget shortly after, like the details of the Routemaster product lifecycle...

I don't know about rugby, next time I drink I will try it, but drinking certainly improves my literary skillscheesy.gif

Seriously

I am an early riser, usually up 5 am, Years of getting up to go to work at 4 am will do that to you.

at 5 am the whole family is still sleeping, even my trusty beagle dog, howler, only opens one eye, looks at me and goes back to dreaming about sniffing rabbit trails.

Do't want to do anything too noisy ,if I wake up the wife too early she will be cranky all day, and we all know what that meanssmile.png

So putting aside all the substantive ways TV has helped me, more important to me, it has helped me entertain my self these early morning hours.

You got to admit some of these Threads, and replies, intended or not. can be very entertaining,.

yes, I am an early riser also.....but we usually have sex instead of reading TV.

I tried that, but for some reason, my sleeping wife did not appreciate it .

or did you mean having sex by your self?

How did ThaiVisaDotCom Help Me?

Only once in the Internet section some time ago.

However one should say "How Did I Help Out?". coffee1.gif

Many a time during these years that I have been a member, since I got my PR in 2002 and joined in 2003, there was no need for me to ask about Thai Visas. whistling.gif

One does try and help out folks when one Kan. cool.png

Not the dog....unless that time with the lights off...

But definitely not a beagle as we do not own a beagle.

We do own a border collie and a jack russell though.

5/6am is the best time for it......watch the crack of dawn pop up....

My wifes name is not howler.

Though she does like to make noise....there was that time in the chair in a sukhumvit hotel...
