Children...remember Cleverly, the cog in our midfield that was hammering 8 past Arse and then when he got hacked down from behind by that thug Davies, we have sputtered. ;)

I see Roma will give us 15 million for Ferdinand according to the papers. Ok, give us De Rossi (is he still there ) and its a deal!

If they offer 5m i'd be happy to take it james.

As i said he's become rather a liabilty and his attitude isn't right by the looks of things. When you have the talent of Smalling and Jones i'd keep Ferdinand on the bench and use them.. that aside, any player that comes out with a comment like "i don't want the young players to be in awe of me" is a cock in my book. i think the situation Ferguson has is compounded by the fact that Evans seems to be viewed as a major weaklink too.

Unlike others I am not afraid to call a spade a spade : in this case meaning weak link = evans. Why we continue to select him is beyond me. Kinda like Gibson.

Everyone goes on about him being youngish and still learning - I dont buy it. Evans has been here for several years now and has not improved - in fact has gone backwards IMO. Ferdinand hasnt got the pace anymore. We need to shore up RB and LB positions as the twins seem very injury prone, this is keeping Jones / Smalling from being able to fit in fulltime at CB.

The other issue I have with us is we play a wide game with lots of crosses into the box but Rooney and Hernandez aren't exactly big CF's so too many balls are easily cleared by opposition CBs. Combined with a dearth in attacking CM or someone to pick up the loose balls from said set-pieces and do something with it (like hitting the target) and we struggle. Cleverly has shown earlier this year that unlike a carrick / fletcher, he thinks attack first and turns to pass forward - a bit like Paul did. Since he was injured our attack has sputtered.

Oh, I don't remember the last time one of our forwards has scored from a corner.

Anyways, all doom and gloom and we are fading fast ;)

Always said that we needed a play-maker like Wesley,i think it is showing now but hey-ho maybe once we get an established centre back pairing it will again give confidence to the rest of the team to start showing the attacking flair that undeniably they have.

The thing that nobody has picked up on was that Rooney had a stinker against City and looked very average his work rate is always good but attacking wise he was very below his normal self, hopefully he gets the help from his team mates stepping up also in the next few games starting against Everton!

We still need to sign a attacking midfielder that is top drawer especially for Europe.

Personally, I thought he was the only one who showed any passion and knew what it meant.

yes passion in abundance but no creativity from him.

Sir improved the team and Young looks a great signing but that is a surprise to me as well I must admit. Maybe he'll see the light in January but the cost will be silly money......

Not doubting Young or the other two signings both good players who have started the season well, everyone knows we needed to replace Scholes and we haven't as yet!

Maybe Cleverly will return and hit the ground running again but he is still not experienced for Europe.

Everybody wants one of those. A rare commodity - only Modric, Gerrard, maybe Lampard (again of late) in the English and Welsh game at the mo. <deleted> Barca have probably the best 2 in the world - greedy sods. You are going to have to make someone an offer they cannot refuse - particularly if the Manyoo DNA change continues (which I doubt)

Anybody spot an upcoming one elsewhere in the E&W game? Wilshere may well become top class within a season or two, he's strong on the running at defences and give and goes but needs to develop as a playmaker (vision/ pass execution). Modric is the other way around I would say.

City have got two as well in Silva and Nasri!

Ross Barkley needs to go to a big club soon also he will make it,can be our new Rooney biggrin.gif

The three you mentioned well two are past it and the third is a Spurs /Chelsea bitch wink.gif

I am sure we will be ok but if we are to progress in Europe we have not got a chance as we are at the moment.

Another easy HOME draw in the Carling Cup. I honestly don't know how you do it.

Can anyone please tell me whether Channel 3 are showing MUFC's Champions League game next Tuesday?I see Channel 7 are showing City that night but cannot find the Schedule for Channel 3 on their site.

Many thanks

I think coverage of these games is a lottery at the moment.Wasn't it last round when the coverage disappeared at half time. Its a sort of "get up and see" scenario

I think when Evans was selected, in preference to Ferdinand, last night there was a collective groan from supporters however to his credit he played reasonably well. The genius of SAF or just a hunch ? I think the playing future of Ferdinand at United is in serious doubt .He might see the season out but he is looking and playing like a player well past his best.

In future I think we will see Smalling (curently with a broken bone in his foot) and Jones as the best centre pairing in the EPL. On Vidic's display last night it will not be any time soon though,I thought he was the best player on the pitch.

Think you just marked yourself out as a village dweller like me. The resort townies are normally just slapping on the after-shave to go out for the evening at that time

Not a great performance by the Reds last night and as i predicted earlier in the season the positioning of Rooney in midfield shows that we need a world class play maker,Rooney is good but you lose a lot from not having him more forward in his normal position, sadly an early exit is on the cards this season, unless January brings class. sad.gif

The most important thing now is to get a cohesive defensive unit and no goals against last night was a big plus.

Confidence that they had at the start of the season is not fully back yet,i hope soon! smile.gif the way they are setting up now is to win games one or two nil again similar to last season back to basics from Ferguson after the City humiliation.

Still United don't normally get going until Christmas biggrin.gif

Pounding over every blade of grass, competing if he would rather die of exhaustion than lose he inspired all around him. I felt it was an honour to be associated with such a player. (Alex Ferguson on Roy Keane after the European Cup semi-final in the 1999.)
