And that's the extent of your wit and or education.

C'mon lad pull thee socks up.

Well i liked Besty, knew him too actually. He was better at football than me as you might imagine. Used to chew the fat with him once in a while over about a fifteen year span. Nice bloke. Would have graced a Tottenham team too as i mentioned to him on more than the odd occasion.

He said i would have graced most Man Utd sides

Nice bit of news I noticed a few days ago was that Valencia has been given the No.7 shirt.thumbsup.gif

And Kagawa declined the no7 shirt, stating as a new player i cannot take the no7 shirt as a new player, very humble the Japswai.gifstarting to like the lad already cannot wait to see him play for United.

And thats before he's even played a game 40.gif

Why not he is a united player now, said as soon as united came in there was no other club he wanted to go too, had a very good year at Dortmund and i think he is what we need but i must add the Central midfield position has still not been sorted which is a bit worrying.

It's like I said the other day nev, they've effectively found a way of getting an interest free, repayment free loan. They're now going to use other peoples money to help clear the debts they created by using other peoples money to buy the club in the first place. And they they didn't have to give up total control to achieve it.

If you read into that article it appears thy're also borrowing from the club to fund their personal lifestyles, then using club money to repay the loan. I agree, they're parasites. Everything might be legal but it doesn't stop them being Prasites.

Interesting article on Manchester United finances under the Glaziers by Swiss Ramble.

http://swissramble.blogspot.com/

For the financially challenged it can be best summarized by saying that having the Glaziers as owners of Man Utd has cost the club 553m quid. This is broken down as follows: 295m interest payments, 128m debt repayment, 101m fees, swaps, refinancing and 29m consultancy/dividends.

I'm sick of these decline threads. Frankly both clubs have already declined. Close them and let the real threads feel the heat! smile.png

Probably not. Think how much money the club would have if the Glaziers' were not creaming a fair chunk of change off it every year to pay bankers bonuses.

So so truesad.png but we ain't done to bad in our decline and only lost the league on goal difference to a club who has spent close to a billion at the same time, we had a horror injury list last season too, just hope we can get the central midfielder we need and we will be still one of the teams to beat this season even in our decline.

This is very true Dev. Man Utd have done very well to have maintained a certain dominance over all the clubs bar City while at the same time spending less on net transfers (since 05/06) than Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and City. (Although that this is partly down to the extraordinary gain on Ronaldo). That's clearly good management. But it is not an entirely comfortable position to be in - spending less in order to compete.

Now last year you spent quite heavily on transfers and this paragraph from the SR blog stands out. '

As an aside, cash flow for the nine months up to 31 March 2012 is a large negative £125 million, partly recognising higher expenditure on transfers, but mainly due to working capital movements of minus £71 million, which are described as being down to timing, e.g. receipts from sponsors, season tickets and hospitality). This may well be the case: for the same period the previous year, working capital movements were also negative (minus £41 million), but ended up as positive £14 million for the full year. However, it does go to show that United’s cash flow is under pressure in the current business model if they pay interest AND buy players.'

This might be the start of it all. Reasons being your lack of money and all the opposite spending what might end up to be considerable sums. City have a very settled unit already, Arsenal and Spurs are good and spending rather a lot and Chelsea will just spend bundles as usual and are buying a new team.

Without going into it too much i'm absolutely convinced its Ferguson holding things together and i just don't think its going to be possible to stay up there at the top baring in mind the way the americand are running the club.

The other way to look at it is this though.

If you undertake a leverage buyout of Man Utd, you do so with the purpose of making an absolute ton of money out of practically nothing rather than to win the league.

The Glaziers ultimate goal therefore is to sell the business while its value is near its peak and with City spending money like water that is likely to dilute the value of Utd. So it really wouldnt be surprising to see the Glaziers sell up within the next 3 or 4 years.

Assuming the new buyers are billionaires wishing to maximise the use of Utd's cashflows to win the PL, they will replace the current debt by interest free loans and free up an additional 55m cash flow a year.

Yes it was, a very good shout mate! Off Albert Bridge road, coming down from the Kings Road lights It was one of his big regular haunts as you well know.

He was a great guy to have a chat with (as long as he wasn't too pissed) and had some great stories. He was a true legend that had time for anyone and had a disarmingly easy way of putting everyone around him at ease.

Colitis is an awful illness and very disabling. My old man is a sufferer and it stopped him from playing for a couple of years, although he made a full recovery. The problem for Fletcher, that two years out at this level would probably mean an end tohis career. Would be a shame and he is a very good player, and United have missed him immensely over the last year.

Certainly need to look at strengthening Cemtral midfield, but it won't be easy finding good valued players that are up to the standard. Anderson is a disappointment, as he looked very promising early on in his career.

Maybe Joey Barton :-p

Can't really imagine that, but would be funny. Barton will probably have a spell in the Thai Premier League before that happens.

Didn't Barton punch a kid in Thailand, when he was with Everton ?

Nope, I think he stubbed a cigar out in a fellow players eye in the hotel bar.

No the cigar incident was a while after at a party.

The incident was in Bangkok at the club below Conrad hotel. Not only did he hit the kid, but he also hit his then captain Richard Dunne, who was trying to calm things down!!

You're right, Barton has been involved in so much shit, that it's hard to keep track.

Reds name 22-man tour squad

A squad blending youth and experience flies to South Africa for the start of Manchester United's DHL pre-season tour on Monday morning.

The 22-man squad will head to Durban first before further stops in Cape Town and the Chinese city of Shanghai. Experienced players in the shape of tour captain Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes are all in the travelling squad alongside a host of youngsters including Davide Petrucci, Jesse Lingard and Ryan Tunnicliffe. Portuguese attacker Bebe is also included after returning from a loan spell with Besiktas.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men will take on AmaZulu FC in Durban on Wednesday night, before a friendly with Ajax Cape Town on Saturday. The Reds' final stop on the first part of the pre-season tour - the second will include visits to Norway, Sweden and Germany next month - will be in Shanghai to face Shanghai Shenhua on Wednesday week.

Travelling squad: Lindegaard, Amos, Johnstone, Ferdinand, Veseli, Vermijl, Wootton, Blackett; Valencia, Anderson, Carrick, Scholes, Powell, Kagawa, Bebe, Tunnicliffe, Lingard, Brady, Petrucci; Berbatov, Chicharito, Macheda.

Berbatov defies logic,i cannot believe he is still at United.
