Living In Bangkok

Featured Replies

hiii, i'm going to live in Bangkok, i want to now how moch money more or less i need to spend on:

1. rent a apartment?

2. family economy? 2 people, average living standart...

any more information will help us a lot...

I pay rent 55,000 pm for a nice 2-bed place

you can pay more or less, of course

electricity tends to be IRO 2-3,000 pm

rest of it is "up to u"......

It depends but if you answer the following questions, we will be able to give you a reasonable cost estimate...

What kind of area do you want to live in?

What size and standard of apartment do you expect?

What kind of furnishing, appliances and gadgets do you want?

How many hours per day will you be using air-con and in how many rooms?

What kind of schooling do your kids need?

Do you want to run a car (or two)?

What kind of food do you want to eat?

What domestic staff if any do you require?

How often do you plan to go on holiday and to where?

What type of clothes will you wear and how regularly will you buy new clothes?

Do you go out drinking much, and if so what type of venue do you prefer?

What level of health insurance do you need?

Will you be playing golf, or pursuing any other hobbies that require club memberships?

Do you like to give tips?

have you ever been to Bangkok ?

based on the massive amount of info the OP has provided it appears that he will need 42, 376 baht per month to live in bangkok...give or take 30 or 40,000 baht

any more information will help us a lot...

Provide the TV brain trust with more information to help provide you more information.

For example, answer the points provided by khun brit1984... Otherwise, as the good old Bush would have said, 'providefication' of information will be 'limitified'.

i rather say around 100,000 baht give or take 120 - 130K.

It depends where you want to live. You can easily rent a decent studio apartment/condo for 7000 baht a month that is near the BTS or MRT. If you want a 1-bedroom it is going to be around 10k. Expect to sign at least a 6-month lease. You can spend a lot more depending on what you are looking for but these prices will get you a place w/ac, and basic furnishings.

first i thank you all for the help... We try to be more focused on questions

We were never in Bangkok, We received an relocation offer.

We are a young couple without children.

We want to rent a three room apartment in the city center or close, how much i'ts cost?

We do not need any extras like a pool or gym, an average apartment, 60 feet more or less

Is the apartment equipped?? What about air conditioning??

What taxes do I pay??

About the money, if possible please use in terms of dollars ... Thank you!

30 baht to a dollar ... you better get used to this basic rule of thumb and conversions.

Three bedroom condos and apartments are much hard to come by. Two bedrooms are not so bad but you might consider looking at a house.

What area would you be working and will you have a car?

I checked my mail... I haven't received anything.

Sent you a Private Message. Please check your Thai Visa Mail.

i wonder what's the need for Private Message for such topic.

Visa agent ? Shipping Company ? Housing Agent ? Relocation service ?
