misslfarnsworth
I will be flying to Bangkok on feb 21st and settle into accommodation and be starting a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course at the ECC from 1st to 26th March and can get a 60 day tourist visa from Royal Thai Embassy in UK before I leave. However, I now plan to take a small, necessary trip to visit a friend in Melbourne Australia for a few days from feb 24th to feb 27th, booking a return flight Bangkok to Melbourne. Is this ok and can I keep the same tourist visa issued inthe UK and stamped when I enter on the 21st Feb? Will it become cancelled if I flight out for a few days? Will I have to go to Thai Embassy in Melbourne to get another one to cover until the end of March or will the first visa I am issued still be valid as it will be within the time limit? can I get a "re-entry" type visa for this kind of activity? Please can you advise me how it is best to deal with my visas and how I will best deal with immigration in this case? > > Many thanks for your help. dr_Pat_Pong
Don't even think about teaching while on a tourist visa. You'll end up in jail and be deported if caught. Apply for a multiple entry Non-Immigrant B visa at the Royal Thai Consulate in Hull. Hull is more laid back than the Embassy.
Thetyim
Sorry Doc but I think you have read it wrongly. I understood it as coming to Bangers to attend a course, ie learn how to teach. So can she get a double entry 60 day tourist visa ?
opalhort
Sorry Doc but I think you have read it wrongly.I understood it as coming to LOS to attend a course, ie learn how to teach. that's how I understood it as well, but in this case an ED visa should be applied for. about re-entry on a tourist visa only Suan Plu can tell, so go and ask! opalhort
ovenman
The best bet in your case in this case is to politely ask the immigrations official to not use the tourist visa on the initial entry into Thailand. Explain that you will be leaving the country within a few days, would like a thirty-day entry stamp and will use the tourist visa upon your return. Immigrations will generally oblige. Davidcharles
..... Apply for a multiple entry Non-Immigrant B visa at the Royal Thai Consulate in Hull. Hull is more laid back than the Embassy. Sorry Pat but you are out of date on this one regarding Hull. They are NOT laid back. Believe me I have tried them. Also, how can he get a 'B' Visa if he hasn't got an offer (on headed paper) of a job? I was advised whilst in LOS a few weeks ago to "Apply for a NI 'B' Visa, but nobody ( Bless 'em) mentioned the above, and now I am back in the UK I can't get one.......Ugh! dr_Pat_Pong
Try Birmingham. I suspect that Hull got too laid back and had their coat pulled. The info' was accurate up until recently.
