They originally had many signs advertising 24hrs. Didn't notice them today.

The people working there had Tshirts with "24hrs" on though.

If a pad Thai is fried at 4 AM in an empty restaurant, does it make a sound? Edited by Jingthing

Unlike the other two branches this one is not open 24 hours.

You mean the other 3 locations... as I have mentioned a few times now there is a 24 hr location of KISS food on Soi Siam Country Club.

Stopped in Kiss today for lunch...service people were polite and very good...food was mediocre at best. Its only a few steps from condo and I doubt I will be back soon

During construction of the restaurant, I noticed the water feed to the building was absurdly poking out in the middle of the sidewalk. Well, the place is now opened and nothing has changed!

Only elites post in our forum. Being such, naturally they will disparage Kiss, which doesn't cater to our fine TV carriage trade.

But Kiss does great business on 2nd Road, crowded most of the day in all seasons. A lot of tourists obviously like Kiss well enough. I still stop by there sometimes for a quick bite. Took Lae Dee at Foodland beats Kiss hands down, with somewhat higher prices, but the location isn't so convenient.

With Kiss you might be lucky enough to get service. But best just to go there expecting that you won't get any. Find a seat, go get your own menu, wave down a waitress and order, ask for the check w/ the food, and go to the cashier and pay your bill. I can do that, no problem; I know I'm not at Mantra. You need pampering, Kiss ain't for you.

Yes indeed, Kiss staff have elevated not seeing the customers wanting "check" to an art form.

I used to ask to pay after I received my last food items- that seemed to work, or I just went to the counter to pay.

It may be only temporary but there is a guy who seems to be in charge and every time I walk past he is deep in conversation with the customers.

I would just like to say that the place is brilliant.

No, it isn't 'cuisine', but it's fast, clean, cheerful, good service and -for Pattaya- really quite affordable. Very good place to go with kids, too, and the Mrs. was happy with the Tom Yam (me too actually, it was excellent).

Here is a restaurant business that has been doing well for years, no matter which nationalities the world throws at them.

It's fitting for Pattaya; food snobs, like Thailand-snobs, can go elsewhere. wink.png

There is also a KISS food restaurant on Soi Siam Country club. It's 24/7 and has the same menu as the Soi Diana location. Pretty sure the pricing is come to same but haven't checked prices at soi diana locale for long time. The decor and pictures of food inside all looks the same as well.

And the food, beer and service there is great. Eat there all hours of the day and night, especially after a long trip back from Lop Buri on the bike and don't want to cook at home. Friendly staff.

I've eaten at Dolphin roundabout many times and a few times at the branch on 2nd Road. At Dolphin the boss is often around; watching the golf channel on the TV; and I'm sad to report he is a Man Utd fan. Nevertheless, I still keep going for the tasty & cheap food, very good value for money. I've eaten far worse and paid much more at many places in Patts. It's not gourmet dining and it seems to have a high volume/low margin business model. It's obviously successful if they now have 4 branches.

You've been to the Jomtien branch (topic of this thread) recently, right?

(Or would you be speaking about the Farang food maybe..? I didn't try that, but don't doubt that actual Farang-run places in Pattaya do that a lot better.)

I've been. What's the point?

That you don't have kids who like American Fried Rice or Fried Macaroni with a milk shake. ;)

So is Walking Street and McDonalds, and I never frequent those either. Or Starbucks or several hundred other places that charge a lot and provide little in return.

There's nothing elitist about that though; it's just common sense.

Unless it's changed, KIss is cheap, which is why I always ate there, but I guess you don't remember the prices from your solitary visit to know.

Oh please. You don't need to be a food snob to think the food at any Kiss is at best: MEH!

It's average with a very good variety of dishes and very good value for money.

I've found the food at Kiss rompo to be much tastier than Kiss Soi Diana.

Kiss soi Siam country Club is not bad either. as was written earlier, very good place to go with kids.

I love Kiss Restaurants, something for everybody large or big items, spicy Thai or western foods & 24/7 plus beers too

Posted

I will only eat at the one on SSCC if I am completely desperate for food both Thai and Western. I agree terrible service, rude and they just don't give a dang. Would sooner grab a frozen meal from 7-11 in all honesty. Haven't eaten at any other locations but good luck for those who are local to the Jomtien one. Time to learn how to read Russian I guess?

Easy enough.

Rompho Market

Access via Jomtien 2nd road, go south. (Hanuman Statue that isn't actually Hanuman)

Or Soi 5 Jomtien Beach road, go east till the end and cross Jomtien 2nd road.

Thanks it was a 7 minute walk from the Hanuman statue. Food was great too.

They don't seem to serve very well if you sit at any of the far tables, you have to yell at them to get their attention, but the food is good and reasonably priced.

I stopped going there , the food is not great and slightly overpriced. Even nesr my condo in soi watboon the food is cheaper and taste better.

I love Kiss 2nd Road, decent food, decent service, good for people watching, and actually open when so many places are shut after 2 or 30 in the morning. Great place.  It thrives because it is so good at what it does and does well.  And fairly decent toilet - free.

Charge us 50 bath for toilet! (wet floor)

and 7% service charges!

Can't believe that was a Kiss restaurant. I've eaten at both many times, never been charged for the toilet. 7% service charge! That's 70 baht if you spent a 1000 baht, but more like 35 baht for a meal for two. Did you have to cut your holiday short and fly home?

This an old post so I have to assume he might have been referring to the old Kisses that was located where the new Terminal 21 Mall is being built. There wasn't a restroom connected to the restaurant. Can't remember if there was a charge for the one at the old shopping center or not.
