Portable Air Conditioners, Anyone Use? Opinion Please.

Featured Replies

I'm talking about the AC unit on wheels with a big hose to poke outside to get rid of the hot air.

I'd like to buy one for next summer, but are there any problems I should know about?

They are about 10,000 to 11,000, a lot cheaper than a permanent job.

Thanks.

look for a unit that has duel hoses

it draws air from outside and returns it outside, single hose outlets the hot air outside but causes a low pressure which draws warm air back into the room.

If you blow the air out, something has to replace it.

This is why you will feel as if the unit is not cooling very well.

Also look for a unit that is self evaporating. this will cut down the times you need to empty the water catch bin, or need to lay a hose to drain.

Other than that good luck. Lots of units to choose from. Midea makes some nice ports for sale here in Thailand.
