[Myanmar] Ngo Worker In Arakan Appear In Court

Three local employees of international aid agencies accused of involvement in violent attacks in Arakan State appeared in a district court in Maungdaw Township on Tuesday, according to the Narinjara news agency. One of the accused, identified as Cholaymar Khatoon, has reportedly been charged with treason for allegedly sharing information about official activities with foreigners. The UNHCR employee was reportedly arrested on June 14 and later transferred to the headquarters of the Nasaka border patrol. No details were available about the other two defendants.
