My Test Results For An Oz Visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I got my tests back from a chest x ray for my Oz visa but do not understand the vocabulary. Apparently whatever it means I need to provide further information for it so can anyone tell me if what it says is serious as the nurse didnt know and doctor was on lunch

It reads

'The lungs are normall aerated and clear except that there is minimal fibronodular infiltration at LUL. There is no active pulmatory infiltration or effusion noted. Bilateral pleural linings are not thickened. The mediastinum, diaphragm and bone structures are unrremarkable.'

If anyone can explain this in complete lamen terms I would be so grateful

Thanks

Sammie

If you have repeated the Radiologists report accurately you have an essentially normal result.

LUL = Left Upper Lobe

minimal fibronodular infiltration at LUL--- your best thinking of this as an old scar possibly from an old TB focus ( many people have them -----nothing to worry about)

There is no active pulmatory infiltration or effusion noted. Bilateral pleural linings are not thickened. --------means no active signs of infection or other problem
