Dry Days In Thailand - Bars Closed?

Featured Replies

Which day next week is the dry day due to the holiday? Is it one or two days and is it likely to affect all bars?

For me, it's TODAY. sad.png Hat Yai local elections. Next week, it is going to be Thursday as Asacha Bucha day. As far as I know, if the owner is foreigner it is down to him to open the venue or not. Thai owners won't open their pubs as it's against the law.

Pretty sure it is Thursday & Friday that the bars will be closed. Don't forget the 12th Aug as well as that is the Queen's birthday/Mother's Day.

Not allowed to sell beer/booze on these days...........wink.png

What bars and night spots would be open for sure in BKK during thu-fri?

What bars and night spots would be open for sure in BKK during thu-fri?

The usual suspects who pay the local constabulary to remain open into the early hours probably won't be dry.

Think Insomnia, Spicy, Shock39, Mixx, Climax and Scratch Dog.

Having said that, sometimes they are actually closed down early on the really important Buddhist holidays in which case there is only one sure thing in town that opens no matter what, "Swing".

It doesn't get going until 5am and runs right through to 10 or 11am, 7 days a week.
