No, it's not meant to be a joke!

Has anyone found a reliable plumber/electrician/maintenance person. I am doing a small amount of repairs and remedial work on home and need someone who is competent to work with Thai plumbing and electrics etc. Also maybe to assist with preparation/decoration. It would be great to find a single multi-talented individual, but otherwise separate trades people would be fine. Like to find someone I can trust to do the job properly first time around, who calls by when they say they will ... and doesn't promise to come back tomorrow, as in maybe next month, to finish job. Has anyone managed to track down this elusive individual and if so are you willing to share their talents?

Also any ideas on what is considered fair price for jobs/hours appreciated.

I had one who came to rewire my house.

He had an appointment. He turned up two days later and was surprised

when I told him to go away.

I found another guy, named Virot 038 322170, who did the rewiring for me competently,

but as you might imagine he is pretty busy with major works and not so keen on the small jobs

It seems that quality is hard to find here, I am continually stunned by the poor workmanship as I sort out the house we are in, just generally sloppy, switch fittings never level, paintwork erratic, virtually all the plumbing leaks ... such a contrast to the meticulous attention to detail displayed by many Thai artists.

I'd do it all myself, but really just want to get the house up and running so we can enjoy it.

brian and his boys have done a lot of work on my place. and i can say i am happy with all the work i now retain them for any repairs because i can trust them to do a good job and come back. they know the the value of repeat business which is rare.
