Traffic Report For Lower Sukhumvit Road Last Night About 6:00 Pm - 7:00 Pm

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can get a report or even CCTV images of traffic last night on lower Sukhumvit between hours of say 6 and 7 pm.

I missed a flight due to this and as supposed to appear as witness in a court case and need this to help show that trip to airport took 1.50 minutes.

I also heard traffic back up was due to members of the royal family trip to Sa Keow.. anywhere I can get reports of this ??

Rgds

Good argument for leaving for the airport real early. In any case, suggest doing a Google for: sukumvit traffi cam

Here's just one:

I have no idea if they're taped or not, so you'd better hurry to contact the owners and ask.

Do another Google for: bangkok police traffic cam

Here's one that pops up:

Thanks so much for that , really apprecaite it. Ive written to the hotel.. who knows.

Does anyone know whay the traffic was so bad between 6 and 7 pm last night from Soi 24 down to the turn off past Nana for airport ??

I mean I know in evening it is usually bad but last night it was snail paced and taxi meter showed only 2.7 kms in 51 minutes.

Was anyone stuck in the traffic as I was

Crazy way to go to the airport at that time of night from soi 24.

Should have gone soi 24/rama4/rama9 still took 50 mins last night to get to the airport but was the quickest way.

Traffic along this stretch is always really bad during the evening rush. I pass through this area most nights during the time you mention and it's never not been jammed (during the week, excluding holidays of course). You could reach out to the BMA who I believe manages most of the CCTV cameras in the city as well as the District Office / Station for the Royal Thai Police... I believe the Khlong Toei or Wattana (Vadhana) offices/stations would be your best bets.

Google has a traffic density configuration. Check out the archive version.

Still amazes me that it knows instantly the traffic on the road outside my room-- how does it know?

My understanding was one of the royals was vising a hotel on Soi 24 this comes from a friend that is a resident at the hotel and was one hour late for a meeting with us last night.

Last night was crazy. It took me two hours for what normally takes me 50 min on the tollway. The tollway from Bangna to Changwattana was the worst I have seen it in two years of doing that particular stretch at that particular time (5:00-6:00 pm). Not sure what caused it, but traffic was also backed up all the way across the Rama 2 bridge from the enterence to the above mentioned express way (10km or so).

If anyone knows what happed please fill us in.

I take the same route as well. And yes normally about 1 hour but last night was one worst at almost 2 hrs.

There was a convoy of at least 6 or 7 cars with police motorcycle and police car escort in lower Suk at that time last night.

Who they were or where they had been I have no idea.

You could take the train link (12 minutes)?
