hi there, i culd use alittle help finding the bookazine stores in Changmai. It seems as though the one in the basement of that building in the night bizzare is gone, in fact the whole basement is closed off. i also thought i remembered one in Central, but didn't see it when i arrived today, as well. if you know, please tell me where they are

Look right behind McDonalds in the Night Bazaar.

There is a Bookazine on the right hand side of the road on Thae Pae road heading towards the gate.

thanks for the info... just so you know, bookazine is selling penguin classics for 95 baht, brand new... i've seen some of the used book stores selling the same ones used for twice as much... there are still some decent titles left... not all shakespear..

That is the publishers price for the Penguin Popular Classics series and Asia Books and Suriwong Books sell them for that price also. Unfortunately, it is VERY difficult to get the good titles in that series, so used book shops feel justified charging the new price (95 baht) or more for the many titles that are not available in Thailand and, of course, they usually will by them back for half price as well.

My guess is that the local book distributers purposely only import crap titles for that price as they can easily sell more expensive editions of more popular classics ( Like Heart Of Darknesss or War and Peace ) and they have to pay very high rents in places like the Night Bazaar.

where can i find Asia Books and Suriwang Book stores in Changmai, i'd like to check out what they've got too... thanks in advance
