Shopping In Cambodia

I posted this on the Visa to other countries recently. No responses and fast dissapearing off the front page. Thought I would move it a bit closer to the action :D

Just been told by Mrs Daddy, we are going to the "border market" near Chong Chom, to buy some curtains :D

As the holder of an extension of non-o visa, what requirements would I need to think about? Would a re-entry permit be required? Would it restart the 90 day reporting clock?

I am sure I read somewhere, that visitors to this market (farang) do not actually get processed out and back in by immigration :o

Anybody, been there, done that? :D

There is a border market on the Thai side which i've visited several times on a Saturday\Sunday but think it's closed during the week. About 1km from the actual Thai\Cambo border inside Thailand. Maybe the Mrs is talking about this one :o

Been there a few times, i go there to do a bit of gambling in the Casino then go down the market to eat, there is a good restaurant there, the Thais stamped me in and out, but did not get a cambodian stamp in the passport, as they said if i was just there to visit the casino and do some shopping no worrys, he did ask for 100 baht which he put in his back pocket, if you are bringing Cigs or booze back, they are strict. so watch your quotas.

Thanks Mr Gadow and Thaicoon. It turned out to be a non event as far as Visa implications went. The actual market we ended up at was the one just before the border. Full of quilts/doonas/curtains and the normal market stuff. The curtains (if anybody is intrested) where of reasonable quality and well priced. We got 9 sets of varying sizes for just under 4K bht :D

Oh. and I did run into a border checkpoint on the way home :D I took a wrong turn turn after leaving the market and ended up in the middle of nowhere. They were quite good about it, and simply pointed me in the right direction :D
