Thai Homeowners Offered Repair Aid After Quake
Thai Homeowners Offered Repair Aid After Quake Thai homeowners impacted by the March 28 Myanmar earthquake can now claim up to 49,500 baht in government repair aid. The 8.2-magnitude tremor caused structural damage across Bangkok and nearby provinces. MP Suphanat Minchaiynunt confirmed the support from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Eligible residents in affected areas must submit photos, ID, a police report, and a completed form to their district office. A property inspection will follow before funds are disbursed. The aid aims to ease financial burdens and help citizens rebuild as aftershocks continue to unsettle communities. -

Falling Crane Smashes Pickup on Rama 2, Driver Seriously Injured
My Son regularly travels from University in Bangkok to Hua Hin. He does not use that road any more, He takes a slightly longer northern route (I think). He says it is about 25 minutes longer, but a lot safer. -

Seat Belts in Thailand.
When you have dealt with as many collisions as I did in my former career and watched non-seat belt wearers die , you don’t need any convincing to make you and your passengers wear seat belts. for all the know-alls whinging about fire, drowning etc, these sort of incidents are very rare and account in most countries for less than 5% of collisions. You stand a much better chance of survival and escape if you are wearing your belt when it collides and catches fire or enters the water. -

Please throw them out and bar them
I advise everyone I meet to not enter bars or pubs while in Thailand. Never do it. If you want a better bar experience, then please go to Hong Kong. There are many expensive establishments there where most guys are wearing tie and coat. This is the kind of bar I prefer. People in Hong Kong, especially those in Hong Kong bars, detest shouting. Of course, stay out of the Irish Bars frequented by Farang, when in HK, even. -
