Do people still install car alarms? What are your thoughts on them? Whats the current 'tech'? Thanks in advance

Waste of time and money, and you look like a dip-stick when it goes off while you’re locking your car. Buy good insurance and don't leave valuables or items of sentimental value in the car.

The dealer fitted for me one of those anti-thefd devices that stops the footbrake being pressed ... it also immobiles the engine. Guess that it increases the chances of my car beeing there when I get back.

There are all kinda car alarms.

Most of them are in the klong thom market. A simple one with a remote key, alarm and auto car lock will cost you 1k baht. You can get any Chang at the parking lot on the 3 rd storey of klong thom plaza to fix it for you for 500 bht.
