There were signs of an Indian summer in the UK last weekend, according to my sister. 20 degrees in Wales.

Actually it's an Indian summer almost every day in LOS. Shame Jim never made it here.

Skip James at the American Folk and Blues Fest in Köln, Germany, 9 Oct. '67.  Unusual high pitched vocals for a black blues musician.  Very nice tune.  Non-German speakers can skip to 0:58 (although it is sub-titled in English).

20 degrees . . . woooooo!!  That's cold for me these days.  I'd be contemplating donning a sweatshirt at that temp.

Since you're on a Doors kick, bannork, here's When The Music's Over recorded at the Hollywood Bowl show on 5 July '68 and which was not released until '87.  A bit of humour by Morrison about 9 minutes in.

Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground live doing Heroin in Paris in '72.  Well, they weren't actually doing heroin but I'm sure that's understood.  RollEyes.gif

Joni Mitchell performing The Urge For Going Oscar Brand's Canadian TV show, in '66.

Carly Simon's You're So Vain from the No Secrets LP in '72.

Vikki Carr's It Must Be Him from '67.  I guess appreciation comes with age.  I good thing, me thinks.  Poor 'ol tutsi doesn't realize that this is the song that his VN heart throb is singing to herself whenever he comes in for fags.

It's Too Late off of Carole King's brilliant '71 Tapestry LP.

Mama Cass with Stephen Stills on guitar on Talking To Your Toothbrush from the '68 LP Dream A Little Dream.

Few voices can compare with Joan Baez.  Rambler, Gambler recorded in '63.

Angel Of The Morning off of Merrilee Rush's '68 LP of same name.

Mary Hopkins' Those Were The Days My Friend off the '68 Postcards LP.

Rita Coolidge's Born Under A Bad Sign from her '71 debut LP.

The very sweet Angel From Montgomery from Bonnie Raitt's '74 Streetlights LP.

Jackie DeShannon's Put A Little Love In Your Heart from the '69 LP of same name.

Sandy Denny with Fairport Convention doing Matty Groves from the stunningly exceptional '69 Liege & Lief LP.

Gracie with Jefferson Airplane on the beautiful number, Lather, off the '68 Crown Of Creation LP>

Lulu's To Sir From Love from the '67 movie of same name.

You Don't Own Me recorded in 1964 from the Lesley Gore Sings Of Mixed-Up Hearts LP.

Awesome vocals by Tammy Wynette, Stand By Your Man, from the '69 LP of same name.

Aretha Franklin with I Say A Little Prayer from the '67 LP I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You.

Another incredibly exceptional voice, Emmylou Harris, singing Boulder To Birmingham from the '75 LP Pieces Of Sky.

Gotta play one more from Emmylou.  From the '77 Luxury Liner LP.  A great all-around LP, BTW.

Tina Turner's strong vocals on a live Sly & The Family Stone's I Want To Take You Higher cover, recorded on the '70 Come Together LP.

Judy Collin's beautiful performance of Leonard Cohen's Suzanne from '66.

Dusty Springfield's '66 version of Carole King's '66 beautiful tune, Goin' Back.

Linda Ronstadt's If He's Ever Near from the '76 Hasten Down The Wind LP . . . you know, the one with her sexy pose on the cover, draped in a sheer nightie showing her hardened little nips . . . (don't think poorly of me, I was just a young lad with a high testosterone level when that LP came out).

'hardened little nips'??? that is to blaspheme against popular music...btw a pal from high school who was a carver and an artist sold her that ivory stuff that she's wearing on the album cover at a booth that he had at the annual NoCal Pleasure Faire...

I'm a big fan too...when she's decently attired in politically correct fashion...

this song reminded me of when my Tennessee grandma died as her love would always live in my heart...(oh, booo hooo...as always, sentimental and lachrymose...too much vodka at 11am, grandma probably wouldn't approve)

I would of sold the ivory to her for the price of a small pleasure.    :passifier:
