Iranian arrested following fatal road crash in South Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A 30 year old Thai woman was killed in a road accident on the Pratamnuk Road leading to the Bali Hai Port in South Pattaya on Saturday night. A further 2 passengers on the motorbike were injured and sent to Hospital.

The crash involved the bike and a Mazda 2 driven by Mr. Hamed Madan Mezhad aged 32 from Iran who was detained by Police pending further enquiries. Police determined from a number of witness accounts and an account from Mr. Mezhad that he had overtaken a slow-moving motorbike and as he moved out to the right to overtake he hit the motorbike of the victim, Khun Sucharsini, head-on.

It could not be determined by Police if the positioning of the victim’s motorbike at the time of the crash may have contributed to the accident

The article says A further 2 passengers on the motorbike were injured

so this sounds like three on a motorbike? Could that be why they were going slow

because of difficulty in manoeuvring?

Don't read so quickly you miss the information.

He overtook the slow-moving motorbike and collided head-on with a motorbike coming from the other direction.

I wonder what charges will be laid against the Iranian in comparsion to charges laid against the Red Bull guy who pranged and killed the BiB in BKK ?
