Just in case you didn't know... if you were one of the few that weren't woken up at 5:00am this morning by the sound of machine gun fireworks echoing around the neighbourhood... today is Chinese New Year.

The dog sort of has permission to hide in the house on this day from now on.

I think it was trying to talk, it sounded like " nitro pills."..

Happy Chinese New Year everyone... Nobody seems bothered about it here in the village, however I did see some preperations being made in town yesterday.

Hope you like the avatar.. (hope the chinese character says something nice ?)

And from our peerless bleeder...

PM EXPRESSES HIS SINCERE WISHES TO THE THAI-CHINESE COMMUNITY ON THE OCCASION OF THE LUNAR NEW YEAR

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra gave greetings to the Thai-Chinese communities in Thailand and wished them a blissful, healthy and a prosperous life.

However during “Prime Minister Meets the Press” session, the premier reminded the public against playing with fire crackers during the Lunar New Year as the fireworks may cause injuries and damage. The premier also invited everyone to visit Yaowarat or Thailand's China Town from today till the end of the month.

PM Thaksin also said that relationship between Thailand and China is on the right track and that the Chinese premier will be paying an official visit to Thailand during the April of this year.

Your in the wrong part of Thailand mate, its really big up here, everyone was up about 4:30 this morning, doing the "tam boon" thing, the Chicken and Pork is to make offerings to your ancestors and spirits, we had fruit, cakes, and a drop of whiskey and a ciggarette for my dead father-in-law. As the spirits dont eat much...guess what we'll be eating for the next few days :D
