A lot of people don't know that Andy Murray was in the school in Dunblane on the day that that mad man walked in and shot dead 15 five year old kids and their teacher who tried to protect them........

Roll on 16 years later and his school friends and locals filled the local bars and hotels of Dunblane in expectation of the long awaited Grand Slam victory.......4 times their hopes have been raised and dashed. Just watch this YouTube clip, and see what it means to these people.........

Here's the tragic story of Dunblane........Andy Murray was there that day......it's a very upsetting story and if ( when ) you watch it, you'll see Andy Murray through different eyes. You'll see his mother Judy differently too......Andy was only a little boy when it happened, his mother actually knew the killer Thomas Hamilton and would sometimes give him a lift to the youth clubs etc in the area where he was active.

Andy cowered in fear as that mad man went on his shooting spree.........Judy was one of the panic stricken mothers who was called to the school, this is an unimaginable horror.............

You can imagine the psychological effect this event had on such a small community, then you see the unalloyed joy in the first clip I posted, if ever a sportsman was allowed to wear his heart on his sleeve it's Andy Murray, and as I said earlier, I hope he's pointing to those kids in heaven.

I did not know that Andy Murray was at this school.

I still remember the day my supervisor walked into my office and stated someone had walked in to that school and had started shooting, the exact details only came out later.
