my friend wants to take her thai husband home to israel for 3 years. so far the information she is getting is that she has to apply in person in israel for his visa, even a tourist visa. she doesn't want to leave thailand without him so i told her i would check on here and see if anyone has any advice on easing the visa process...

She could ask the Embassy of Israel in Bangkok. Perhaps the Embassy can act as an agent on your friend's behalf so that she does not have to apply in person in Israel.

Visa for Spouse of Israeli Citizen

In the case of inter-marriage between Israeli Citizen and Thai Citizen,

the Israeli Citizen will have to apply to the Ministry of Interior in Israel,

on behalf of spouse, for a tourist visa.

The following documents are required:

Certified letter from place of employment

Bank statement for the past six months and all other financial assets

(savings accounts, property ownership, etc.)

Photocopy of Identity Card Passport – Expiration date over six months

Original round-trip ticket

Two 2” sized Photographs

For children traveling with only one parent, the written consent issued by the

district office has to be submitted.

Visa Fee – 680 Baht. (This rate is subject to change –

please check with the Consular Section during working hours).

The following documents will have to be presented to the Ministry of Interior in Israel:

Legal Thai Marriage CertificateTrue translation of Marriage Certificate to English.

Both certificates will have to be authenticated by the Thai Foreign Ministry at the

Department of Consular Affairs, 126 Chaeng Wattana Rd., Kwaeng Thung Song Hong,

Laksi, Bangkok 10210. Tel: 02-981- 7170-99.

The documents must be authenticated at the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok, as well.

The Ministry of Interior in Israel reserves the right to request additional

documents and/or requirements.

Upon approval of the Ministry of Interior, the visa will be issued at the

Israeli Embassy in Bangkok within 1-2 working days.
