How much would it cost to exchange title deeds in Ubon, My wifes family are wanting to transfer title deeds for land that has a house built from one member of the family over to another Family member. the land itself is 1500 square Meters

Why not tell your Thai familymembers to ask at the local landoffice??coffee1.gif

Sorry don't follow why would you want to know how much, if your wife's family want to give a house to another member of the family. Nothing to do with you, why get involved. Jim

Then you have a problem, she will need to be here to do the transfer. Fees depend on what the property is valued at, same as the west, the tax man in one form or other will have his hand out. Jim

Very very easy to transfer titles in the Ubon Land Dept. Probably the same elsewhere. But both parties have to be there as Jim says above. It is several years since I did this but I believe the transfer price is about 1% of the valuation of the property. I really don't know. The value is what the Land Dept will give based on the location of the property and on recent sales through their office. Try to value low.

Just add that if its transferred to a minor..son/daughter of the family taxes are waived

wife just did this last week said cost was 3800 baht on value 150000 , her advice was as said to keep value down to save costs

scotty

Cost is based on value and time held by owner. If over 5 years 3% of value if under 5 years its 5% of value.

wife just did this last week said cost was 8,400 baht on value 150000 ,that was to transfer land from original owner to us but in our case original owner paid.

her advice was as said to keep value down to save costs

scotty
