I want to lay sandstone around my pool and the entrance to my property. Does anyone have any experience of how to protect it (without using anything detrimental to it's appearance)? Concerned that its being so porous may attract a lot of dirt and mud, particularly during the wet season. Have contacted a local company, but they haven't bothered to reply, same same some 'nano technology' outfit hereabouts ... So any 'hands on' advice gratefully received.

have you tried polyurathane? it works on concrete, never tried sandstone but maybe worth a shot.

Polyurathane. On very expensive sandstone. And not cheap concrete, which will deteriorate over time no matter what you do to it. Did you miss the bit about not wanting it to be detrimental to it's appearance? Repeat, any advice from those with hands on experience, very much appreciated. Thankyou.

I don't believe it is possible to safely and effectively seal sandstone it is simply too porous?

I have quite a lot of sandstone around house and pool and have no problems keeping it clean using either a Hyrocloric acid solution or hydrogen peroxide solution.

Cheers
