Accident Twin Brothers 8, Killed in Motorbike Collision with Parked Lorry
Picture courtesy of SiamNews. Eight-year-old twin brothers have died and another boy 11, was injured after their motorcycle crashed into the back of a parked lorry in Mueang Loei district on the evening of 12 August. Police said the accident occurred at around 18:00 on the Loei–Tha Li Road, near Ban Pong Patiu in Kok Due subdistrict. Pol Lt Pimanee Charachit, an investigator at Mueang Loei Police Station, received the report and coordinated with the Dewa Rescue Unit to respond. At the scene, officers found a blue Honda Wave motorcycle, registration from Loei, overturned in the middle of the road. The injured rider, an 11-year-old boy named Thiwakorn, was taken to Loei Hospital. Two passengers, twin brothers Thanadet and Thanaphat, both aged 8, were pronounced dead at the scene. All three were residents of Kok Due. A short distance away, police found an Isuzu trailer truck, registration from Loei, parked at the roadside. The driver, 41-year-old Mr. Wittaya from Nong Bua Lamphu province, identified himself to police. Initial investigations suggest the truck had been parked when the motorcycle, ridden by the 11-year-old and carrying the twins, struck a glancing blow to the rear of the trailer at speed, causing the bike and passengers, to thrown along the road. The truck driver was taken in for questioning, and police have collected evidence from the scene. The case will proceed in accordance with legal procedures. Report Repeat Harasser in Udon Thani Blames Alcohol for Actions
Picture via Facebook/เจ๊ม้อย v+ An elderly Thai man apologised for his disgraceful conduct after proposing to grope a cosmetics store employee in Udon Thani. Security footage captured the unsettling incident where the 72-year-old entered the Kut Chap sub-district shop barefooted and made his inappropriate request. Approaching the cashier, he brazenly asked, “Can I touch your breasts? It will give me energy.” Ignoring her refusal, he attempted to reach out, forcing the woman to defend herself with a feather duster. Despite being chased away, the man persisted, moving behind the counter and pushing the victim to call for backup. He reluctantly retreated only after a colleague threatened police intervention. Before leaving, he taunted them, claiming authorities rarely answered emergency calls. Channel 3 confronted the man, who blamed intoxication for his actions and issued a public apology. However, locals revealed this isn’t his first offence, noting previous incidents of harassment involving food vendors and others, reported The Thaiger. Community members described him as a pleasant individual when sober but a troublesome menace under the influence of alcohol. They urged that government agencies intervene with a mental health evaluation and preventive measures to curb his lewd behaviour. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-08-14 -

Since October 7, 2023, 967 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank in Israeli military operations, armed confrontations and attacks, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. At the same time, radical Israeli settlers have expanded their attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. They repeatedly advance into Palestinian villages with firearms, baseball bats and stones, set houses and cars on fire, and ignite fields and olive groves.
