What's The Best Way To Get From Bangkok To Koh Tao?

Featured Replies

One option:

Bus or train to chumpon and then link up with the Lomprayah catamaran to Tao.

the lomprayah fro chumporn is perhaps the most efficient although can be utter hell if the waves are up.

if you are not worrieed about cash you can fly to samui and take a boat from there.

Hire a chopper and land on Nangyuan around sunset - that would be the best way in my opinion

Nok Air have a daily service from Bangkok DM to Chumphon which connects with the ferry to Tao.

One way price inclusive of ferry and transfers around 1600 Baht each way.

That sounds like a cunning plan. Definately one for the OP to think about although looking at the weather i wouldn't think the ferry trip would be that nice

I don't know. I have this great image in my mind of the OP standing on the prow of the ferry as it surges up and down in the 3 meter high waves - belting out 'The Ride of the Valkyries'.

Oh no!!!, they found Big C's place!!!!! rolleyes.gifbiggrin.png

To the OP this is a local joke!!! smile.png

If it were me doing that trip, my preference is usually to choose Lomprayah Ferry.... If seas are rough they offer sea sick pills at the start of the journey... sick.gifwink.png
