Hi all,

These are questions I should know the answers to but I think in the blurry of getting ready for settlement interview for hubby I am losing my mind!! :D

1) If someone application for a settlement visa is succesful is their passport and visa collected later that day or a few days later?

2) Does anyone have any experiance of having to get a transit visa? Hubby needs a transit visa to travel through EU airports (he is not Thai) and just wondered if they are quite easy to get with a UK 2 year visa and the UK as your final destination?

3) I am very confident that everything is taken in care of with regards to meeting the criteria, all boxes are checked etc but as my hubby has a crappy immigration history with UK (which some memebrs have already heard about! :o ). I am also aware that he is going to have his work cut out for him in the interview. Now I remember reading somewhere, I think, that when someone felt something had been overlooked at interview or something had been taken thewrong way that you could ask for the case to be looked at again before having to go to an appeal. Now I may have totally got the wrong end of the stick there but thought I would double check - just incase we do have probs.

Thanks for taking the time to read that and any tips would be much appreciated.

Okay have managed to answer number 3 myself by reading through posts I had missed in last couple of weeks. So we could write to the ECM if we thought the ECO made a mistake. Seems it works for some too judging by the posts on here :o

1. It depends upon the mission.

2. Providing that your husband successfully gets his settlement visa, the European transit visas shouldn't be a problem as he will be able to show that his intended destination is the UK.

Cheers,

Scouse.

Thanks Scouser, was hoping it wouldn't depend on the mission - oh well I guess we will (hopefully) find out at the time.

Thanks also for your previous advice through PM - as you may have guessed the interview was re-scheduled and only the other day we got a letter via our MP from Home Secretary himself to say that everything was now revoked and that the relevent British Embassy were being notified. Phhewwwwwwwww

sorry to post here but you have me a bit concerned now.

If I am looking for air ticket for g/f to fly to uk and it happens that its via some europena place e.g. Turkey surely no Transit visa is required? She will be stuck in the transit lounge waiting for the next connection to the Uk as per the ticket which we will purchase?

Please tell me I dont need a visa for Turkey too

thanks
