Phrae Tourist Attractions

Featured Replies

What are the top 5 things one should see when visiting Phrae? I'm particularly fond of viewpoints, waterfalls and the GPS coordinates that go with them.

In addition to sceadugenga's link here are two more hints: Phrae - TourismThailand.org and http://province.prd....hrae/page20.htm

Also have a look:

1. Khum Chao Luang, the residence of the last ruler of Phrae ( 18.144226, 100.138782), very interesting.

2. Vongburi house, Gingerbread style (18.141804, 100.134609)

3. Wat Prathat Choe Hae (18.086327, 100.204512), a must!

4. Pha Nang Coi - cave (18.369354, 100.353836), nice cave

5. Waterfall Huai Rong (18.441833, 100.450401), wonderful old trees, many of them (and usually some food and drink)

1+2 in Phrae

3 some km east of Phrae

4 about 30km north of Phrae

5 further 20km

A nice drive would be from Prathat Choe Hae southwestwards following the '1022'. This will become a dirt road;

4wd would be better than a Camry or Civic etc. Also take enough fuel, water and some food. It may take some time to reach the Sirikit dam.

From there you could go to Uttaradit and up north back to Phrae. Have a good trip.

Thanks. I've found 16 waterfalls online. Now to locate them in person...
