Human art or a bizarre prank. You decide!!

A bizarre story now from the Central Pattaya section of Pattaya Beach. Recently a spectacular statue featuring a semi-naked mermaid has been erected at the location. On Thursday Night, it appears that someone decided to recreate the mermaid’s pose.

A fully naked woman thought to be aged between 30 and 40 years decided to climb the statue and perch herself at the top. The woman, who we understand has a history of mental illness and alcoholism refused to come down. A Thai man attempted to talk with the woman; however an angry foreign man thought he was joking with her and for some unknown reason, pushed the man into the water. Luckily for him, the Thai man did not retaliate.

Police decided this situation had gone as far as they would stand for and it was time for Police volunteers to climb the statue and forcibly remove the naked woman from the statue. She certainly did not come quietly, slapping the face of a volunteer as he attempted to grab hold of her. Eventually she was brought down and taken to Pattaya Police Station where she was charged with public order offences and later released after paying a small fine.

On a more serious note, this case highlights the lack of mental health care available to individuals such as this who are clearly in need of professional help to understand the root cause of her actions.

Next time leave her up there!

By the look of her, she'll be down for a major feast as soon as she's hungry.

Alternatively, cover the entire statue with KY once a week :o

800 years ago in the UK they'd have simply surrounded the statue with sticks and barbecued her.

Thank goodness that we don`t live in those times........most exotic dishes can now be purchased in the Paradise Restaurant :D
