roger1999 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 After 10 years I cancelled my True Vision Gold Package effective Dec. 31. It was costing over 2,000 baht a month and I could never find much to watch. I know there are other alternatives, but I am not sure what they are, and perphaps they are constantly changing. I'd prefer something in the sub 1,000 baht range and hope someone can point me in the right directions. Thanks.
MJCM Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) Alternatives would be = Sat TV ( Look at http://www.jsat.tv/ ) - Cable TV (I have no idea about the Providers in Chang Mai) - Internet TV - Download from the Internet (Newsgroups, torrents etc) But remember that when you are using the Internet for watching TV, when the Internet is Down you will not have TV. jingjoke Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Thanks all, good news. Any recommendations on best (quality - price) Nettop PCs with HDMI. Does Openbox fit the bill perchance? Cheers
worgeordie Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Thanks all, good news. Any recommendations on best (quality - price) Nettop PCs with HDMI. Does Openbox fit the bill perchance? Cheers Hi Jingjoke, Dont think Openbox would work, as its just a Sat box, youcan stream from any computer, you just need cables to connect to your tv. I have a Nettop pc, because its small ,sits under tv and has HMDI so can connect to tv with a HDMI cable, Unfortunately you cannot buy Nettops here, e.g.Acer Revo, Asus Eeebox,Lenovo q180, so I had to import mine from the UK,they are very small, use less electric than standard tower pc. or you could use a laptop and connect to tv. regards Worgeordie
zippydedodah Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 or...if you don't want a laptop/computer tied to a TV just so you can watch stuff... get a wireless media server with HDMI connections to the TV and hook it up to your wireless home network...stream from the computer to box and box goes into tv... might be less expensive than buying a laptop just to watch TV
jingjoke Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Thank you for your time in answering. Cheers
Rancid Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Well I was rather bored with WETV so I did an online self-improvement course "Home Lobotomy for a Better You". It totally changed my life, I really enjoy WETV now, I even find the Thai soaps fascinating and thought provoking, I totally recommend it for everyone. Not only that I now believe that banks and politicians really have our best intersts at heart and are not the thieving scumbags I used to believe. Life is now much calmer and fulfilling. 1

Ulysses G. Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I like WETV as long as I can supplement it with downloads of popular TV shows and movies. It is difficult to beat the price.
BTM Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 To watch all of the series and reality shows, I download from http://eztv.it/ = has so much to choose from and is easy to use.. worth a look! 1
