Ray Kurzweil, Google's Director Of Engineering, Wants To Bring The Dead Back To Life

Featured Replies

This is a factoid about the creation of a humanoid. It comes from the Huffington Post, which I've never seen off-line, but quite clearly has to be a tabloid.

The Huffington Post's political opinions are pretty crazy too.

Laugh if you like, Ray Kurzweil is used to it.

Most people who heard him predicting the mass spread of the Internet in the 1980s laughed too. It became reality 10 years later.

Most 'respected' scientists also laughed heartily in the 90s when Kurzweil predicted it would take 10 years to map out the human genome. And many are laughing now about his predictions for AI and mind uploading, not to mention the Singularity which he has calculated to around 2030.

Meanwhile, science just recently completed its first mapping out of a biological brain (no, not a human brain, but if you understand the pace of change properly you will see the writing on the wall), and bee-bots will be deployed shortly to counter the mass death of honey bees that has occurred over the past 10 years.

If you're interested in learning about how technology is virtually the newest arm of evolution, it's easy enough to find his books. Or you can keep laughing, it is said to prolong your life, so maybe you'll get to see the Singularity too before you die.

It's a real shame that technological evolution is now moving at a pace that far exceeds the capacity human emotion and human nature have to deal with it. It will likely cause our extinction.

^That is definitely a possibility. But regardless, the wheels are set in motion and there is no stopping that process now, only modification is possible.
