For Those Doing The 14 Day Border Run

Featured Replies

Reports are coming in that as of the 1st January 2013 , new rules regarding people doing the 14 day border run . It seems as though we can now only do the 14 day run 3 times back to back from the same border . If we use another border crossing for the 4th border run we can then return to Mai Sai for a continuation of another 3 x 14 day cossings before having to go to another border again . Obviously we can do the 3 day trip to Laos / Vientiane and maybe that is what we will all have to do .

I was told today of one foreigner who on re-entry on a 14 day border run has been given only 4 days and not 14. He was told to leave the country and get a visa. There are no other reports as yet from anyone at any other border crossing experiencing the same problems as some at the moment at Mae Sai . Please let us know if you hear of anything else or have expereinced a problem from Mae Sai immigration.

He was told to leave the country and get a visa.

Fair request.

Mate went to MS yesterday, been doing back to back for 6 months.

Had no problems with getting another 14 days.
