Powered Usb Hub

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get a hub which can be plugged in electric socket to be able to use devises that require high power?

on Basically, I have 3 USB ports on my laptop, but one of them is on the blink and will only give power to the cooler. If I plug the mouse into it, the lights come on the mouse, but it's unusable. That leaves me with 2 ports and sometimes don't have enough usb ports. if I use a hub to increase the numbers I can only run the cooling fan and mouse as the power output is reduced by the hub.

I'm hoping someone can tell me if such a thingexists.

Thanks in advance.

I got a 7 port Kensington at IT city a while back - works great - I did notice that they are not seen everywhere like lotus etc so go into the IT malls.

Thank you everybody. When I googled all I was getting was a usb hub to charge mobile phones and tablets. I started to think that there was no such thing. I'll get one at the weekend.

Thanks again.

I got mine from Banana IT, a small 4 port hub which cost about 399 baht (as I recall).

All the USB hubs I've had have also had a built in socket for a 5v mains power supply to be plugged in.
