I am looking for some Thai lang. instruction on CD format, that I can then down load onto my i-pod and play it continiously for hours. I have found a CD instruction set, but it is not even close to being basic enough.

Basically, the CD tells you the word for good luck, choc di, and then it recites the next phrase, "I went to the hospital yesterday, for chronic intestinal pain...."

In other words the CD goes from one vocab word, to some crazy long sentence. I just want something basic, that has tons of vocab words, and then uses the words in a short senctence....

Any suggestions?

Have you got the Becker books? The beginners edition has basic vocab, plenty of words, and then after the vocab a conversation (very basic) using some of those words.

I'd recommend the Pimsleur Thai course... just finished it and now I feel pretty confident about speaking at least a little Thai... Whoopee!!!

Cheers for the podcast tip... picked all up in iTunes as well as Mandarin Chinese and Japanese... very cool!!
