Do you get on well with Thai People?
It's bar stool conversation. To have Thai friends you need to speak Thai language. I doubt it's very common to farangs. And speaking English fluently isn't very common either to Thais. -

ICE vs EV, the debate thread
That’s very true but the ICE market is shrinking and legacy manufacturers are very sensitive to making a loss with just a very small change in market share. Take Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi for example, they are all struggling and the proposed merger of Honda and Nissan will end in tears. I agree with Carlos Ghosn, they don’t have any synergy for a merger, they have similar vehicles in the same spaces and both of them are way behind on electrification of their product range. it is Japanese legacy auto makers own fault because they have sleepwalked into this problem, believing Akio Toyoda, that EV’s wouldn’t take off. I am reminded of Kodak who didn’t believe digital cameras would go anywhere. -

Day-to-day life in Myanmar
What a great thread, thanks Simon. I'm in Rakine state at the moment and things here are not good but are hopefully going to improve in the near future. Have worked here a few times and can honestly say the locals are the nicest and most respectful people I have ever met. Considering what they have been through and are currently going through it truly is amazing. -

Deterioration of Dining Quality and Experience
I don't have the same experience in Chiang Mai, though it's full of tourists, mainly from China. The lunch or dinner buffet at Marriott s was awesome. Best quality. Other buffets at different places with different quality. Some awful, some just to vomit. However, the bit more expensive hotels here offer good food. (maybe possible by influence of Chinese tongues and taste?)
