Great photos guys!

Those buildings of yours are coming on nicely Jake, nice to see some half descent blocks being used.

Will post some photos of our rubber trees when I find them, they are coming along quite nicely and all being well we should be able to make

the first cut next year.As of last week we also have 15 rai of rice fields (rented) to go with the 3 rai from Num's Ma.It wont make us millionaires

but every little helps. Also the fish are selling good,Num goes to the market a couple of times a week and have regular customers that buy from

our home.Plus Ma has just opened a noodle shop and she sells BBQ'd catfish also.

Sunrises seem popular at the moment.

Just got these photos today from Mrs Shaggy showing the 15 rai piece of land we have just started to rent in Mahasarakham.

Aunt over in Kosum Phisai will be working it,buying the chemicals and harvesting it.End of harvest split 50/50.

First crop will be started after Song Kran is finished

We didn't have corn in so we have been twiddling our thumbs a bit Tik and I. Setting up a 1 rai block for Lime trees but the ring and base supplier have let us down so we only have 64 set up out of the hundred and the guy supplying the trees says no can do now! So we need another supplier.

Mango 'R' arse, the nickname I've given the orchard is keeping us from falling into a coma! We water our young trees every week and added about 6 ton of cow poo to a lot of the mature trees about a week ago. About another 2 ton to go, just waiting on the cow! With mangos 8 baht a kilo it's hardly worth picking them!

The last lot were 10 baht a kilo and we were just shy of 4 ton on the pick-up and 2 ton went with someone elses lot on a 6 wheel truck.

This patch of about 6 rai was virtually jungle like what you can see behind it (including mango's).All trees were cut down and most

useable timber was removed and now the remainder including roots has been stacked up using a large backhoe and is now ready

for burning.

just how are you going to keep- your birds safe from snake, rats, cats etc. jake?. i know i am being negative thinking, but plan for worst cases and you dont have so many disappointments. my grandfather used to make it my responsibility to patrol the premiter with various weapons to protect his birds from harm. the varminets meaning harm can be very clever in finding avenues to get access.

my arsenal for defense of his birds ranged from 22 caliber rifle, 410 shotgun, sling shot, tree limbs trimed to size, etc. one time we poured gasoline/diesel combo down rat holes and set it afire, used hose from engine exhaust ti entrance hole. never sure who won the war but grandpa finally gave up on his exotic bird hobby. the good paqrt was we got to eat the pheasant/grouse.

hi slapout,

if you look through some of my other pics you will see we have had an aviary with budgies for years now,

we dont get problems with snakes at all,

round or property there is a post and barbed wife fence, at the bottom of this is corrigated tin, then onto all this there is that white plastic square wire with 1/2" holes, snakes try and come through that and get stuck, they can get there head through but not the rest, they cant go backwards so just die there, we find a couple a month in the wire,,

if they do get though that and its a big if, we have a wall as you can see round the garden part of our home, 1 mtr high and again wire on top of that,

then ive got 3 dogs and 2 ferrol cats, the cats just came, one lives in my barn and the other sleeps in the pump shed,

they dont seem to bother the budgies or my 50 fancy pigeons,

i think they are here for the mice,
