I think open fireing for two Thai police in public was not a good idea. If they thought the man was going to put other people in danger maybe it was justified but was he armed in anyother way?? What damage did the Hit & run do besides a motorbike?? If people were killed it may be a one thing but this became more dangerous with Gun fire involved!!

Guns to stop a motor is over kill. IF, they shot out the tyres then the ride would become uncontrollable and perhaps wipe out pedestrions or worse. It was a daft decision.

In the UK, they would rather the criminal gets away. Most people in the UK would be happy for police to shoot at fleeing criminals.

I saw a guy in Kata driving a motorbike, stopping to greet a friend, fell down because he forgot to put one foot on the ground to maintain balance. Just looking at him, did not need any other methods to determine that he was ''extremely intoxicated''.
