Prepaid Sim For Tourist

Featured Replies

Dear Friends

Greetings.

I request advise which prepaid sim to buy. I will be in BKK for 4 days and will need to make ISD calls to India. I will also need access to Internet (approx 500 mb total). I have a unlocked USB 3G dongle for my laptop & Iphone 4. I need internet on both.

I found only 1 sim which suits my needs till now, i.e. Happy tourist sim (299 Baht, 100 Baht talktime & 7 days net free). Are there any other options available?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Which 3G frequencies does your USB aircard support?

You can pretty much use any SIM, activate it, add value, then subscribe to a mobile data plan; no need to fall for one of those pre-packaged, all inclusive SIMs.

Hi.

It is a GSM data card & support 3G: HSPA+/UMTS; 2G: EDGE/GPRS/GSM.

I feel, that buying the happy tourist sim is the only suitable option, as buying a normal sim and topping it up with a 3G plan will also cost about the same. I will be very happy to be corrected and pointed to a plan (below 300 baht), which gives me more talktime and data.
