What Are The Odds Of Obama Making A Second Term Without Being Impeached?

Featured Replies

The last President to be impeached was Clinton even though it did not force him from office it will always stay with his presidency and he was far less a destructive than Obama is to the conservitive belief system and moral values. My question; will Obama go down in history as an impreached potus and if so when and why?

Be better if he was assassinated first.

Couldn't screw anything up then, could he?

Less than one percent chance Obama will be impeached.

The hostility expressed here towards Obama is disturbing.

Oneof the worst presidents in my lifetime. Not a scintilla of leadership ability with a predisposition to skirt the constitution whenever he finds it convenient. That said, I agree with JingThing. Less than a 1% probability of impeachment. One doesn't impeach presidents because they don't share your values or belief system. With the crop of presidents that we've suffered since Nixon resigned it really makes me wonder, was Tricky Dick really so bad? I don't think we'll ever see the likes of a JFK or RFK again.

Tricky was really so bad. Worse than we knew even then.

Historians are so far rating Obama quite well. The proof will be in his second term of course. Chances are Iran will be in the picture.

Nixon was dishonest of course, broke many laws, but which of the presidents that followed him didn't? Anyway, I'm not here to defend Nixon. He deserved to be impeached and removed. He was the last president however with any BIG ideas and the skill to move them forward. Kennedy likewise and he died for it. Obama is is a fraud of a president. A minature of a man , a political eunuch, who sees his only job as to manage the decline of a nation and to set the rest of the world on fire. History will not be kind to him IMO. He is the Chester A. Arthur (who?) of our time. The only way a man like Obama could rise to the presidency is if he's preceded by a George Bush.

He just won a second term decisively so that don't fly!

He's also the most popular man in the world.

Yeah, so did George Bush, what's your point? He's popular because everyone still thinks he's in a position to give them what they want, even if he can't pay for it. That bubble's gonna be bursting soon.

Obama is is a fraud of a president.

Agreed. The liberal media lied, manipulated, distorted, ignored, and cheated to get him reelected and the country will pay for it.sad.png

there is no way that an open mind believes that Obama will go down in history as anything other than what he is; a man who divided the country at an almost 50/50 percentage similar to the have and have nots in thailand. people trend to love or hate him. I was no fan of clinton but he looks pretty good compared to Obama.

and he brought peace to the world, that's why he got the gobble piece prize crazy.gif

Obama didn't divide the country. It was already divided. He has sensed that America is actually a majority center left country (thinly) rather than a majority center right one. He also senses correctly that due to Latinos this majority will grow in the next decades and democrats will take over surprising big formerly red states like Texas and Georgia. He is going to lead differently in his second term. There is no negotiation possible with the extreme right wing obstructionists. He gave them too much credit for being reasonable the first term. Also of course he is the Abraham Lincoln to American gay people.

He ran a dishonest smear campaign against a good man and is continuing with his ruinous policies. Machiavelli had nothing on Obama. .

He was accused of being indecisive... or, to put it more politely, of giving full weight to the arguments on both sides of an issue. Perhaps he needs to be more decisive this second term.

Of course I love him for his pro-gay stance... but surely, JT, he should be concentrating more on more important issues like the economy and foreign policy. LGBT equality (hurrah and all that!) will not help if the economy goes into a tailspin, and the Islamists take over North and Central Africa and the Middle East. I feel (from a British position of weakness ourselves) that Americans are often still blind to the dangers they run in those two areas.

"It can't happen to us!" Oh yes, it can. (Good Obama slogan that!)

What a thing to say, UG! Unlike most modern American (and British) politicians, Macchiavelli knew how things were done (the thumbscrews here, the rack there, and a spot of discreet assassination).

Nixon got in trouble for covering up Watergate.

This guy (Obama) could face serious problems if the truth ever comes out about Fast and Furious and Benghazi.

Small potatoes. If there's anything to be had it will be for his administration's malfeasance and collusion in protecting Wall Street monied interests. But there's no way you're going to get anyone to bring those charges, which would most likely have to come from within his own party. Ain't gonna happen. Jon Corzine is the Willie Sutton of our time and just happens to be a friend and fundraiser of the president. He is immune from prosecution

Also of course he is the Abraham Lincoln to American gay people.

You're certainly being magnanimous in your comparison to Abraham Lincoln. Ol' Honest Abe's thinking never really needed to "evolve" on the immorality of slavery.

No I am not.

Which president is associated for all time with emancipation of slaves?

Lincoln.

Which president will be associated for all time with executive level action towards gay equality?

OBAMA.

It must happen from the supreme court but when it does happen Obama's leadership will never be forgotten.

People act like civil rights and equality are trivial issues. No they are not. They are huge issues and of the utmost importance and priority.

once again it is no surprise that Obama would be taking care if his own, however to think that any black man has the hispanic best interest at heart is fool hearted. The blacks do not like the hispanics because they are willing to work at any job that comes their way and that makes the blacks look lazy. the blacks dont like the asian either for the same reason. Obama will do nothing in this term other than find social issues to draw attention away from jobs, jobs, and debt.

Reading your post makes me sad. So many negative stereotypes. Wow. Anyway, politics makes strange bedfellows. Obama's power is based on a broad left of center coalition including many diverse groups. Including many straight white men!

If leading from the rear is your idea of leadership, maybe you're right. He's a panderer at best, especially if there's a campaign donation associated with the "evolving" of his position. The man is balless and maybe that's for the best as he hasn't any great ideas to pursue anyway.

You don't understand. This was a strategy and it worked. Lincoln also had a strategy and it worked. He could have come out for emancipation much earlier but he did not because the TIMING wasn't ready yet. Obama's legacy can't be fully realized without his second term. If he had come out for gay equality early in his first term he wouldn't have won a second term. The thing is I can assure you that gay supporters knew all along how he really felt. Its insulting to call him ball-less. That's ridiculous. Now we have a new Obama who has learned some hard lessons about how toxic the American right wing is. He's got the majority support now and the right wing's role is only to obstruct. Yes for all time, Obama is the Lincoln of America's gay people and for African Americans he is their Martin Luther King in presidential form. He is an ICON. He is definitely the greatest president of my lifetime. Yes what Reagan is to "conservatives" for whatever reason I can't fully fathom, Obama will clearly be to the new LIBERAL multi-racial American majority for decades to come.

Well, I think I've got a better idea of where you're coming from anyway, but I have to say that's pretty sad.

The man is balless and maybe that's for the best as he hasn't any great ideas to pursue anyway.

He will be remembered as the man who made Jimmy Carter seem less of a failure in comparison.

That's absurd. Carter failed to win reelection. Obama is nothing like Carter.

Sad would be President Romney, and the nerve of him not to show up at Obama's inauguration (which is customary).

That is the point. He is worse.

the second term will expose him for how unoriginal he truly is; without any of Bush programs to fall back on he will need to come up with his own fresh ideas, thus far he been unable to get a single vote from his own party on any budgets he has put put forward. He has not met with his jobs council in over a year, he has fresh ideas on how to get the economy going and continues to spend money like a drunken sailor on shore leave in pattaya. JT i worked in east oakland for quite some time which gave a pretty good insight into racial perceptions from the afro american male.
