What Are The Odds Of Obama Making A Second Term Without Being Impeached?

Featured Replies

You fail to see the bigger picture mate. Obama wanted universal too but it was politically impossible. If you were more honest, you would admit the same, it was 100 percent politically impossible. But one big thing has changed. Health care is now almost a right for all Americans. BECAUSE of Obamacare. The system isn't fit to provide that yet, but the concept and law of the RIGHT is being cemented. Obamacare is a bridge at this point. It is deeply flawed but it has set the precedent. Further change MUST happen, we can all agree on that, but it will be in the context of the health care RIGHT for ALL Americans.

The right wing, enemies of the poor, were passionately against this RIGHT being set in stone. They are still fighting but soon it will be too late.

Again, you fail to accept political realities and fail to see the truth of Obamacare as a STEP.

Political realities are not the only realities. There are economic realities too. If the insurance companies are not eradicated (at least for universal basic coverage) the price will just continue to escalate. It is already too much now, so what will happen is those "rights" you talk about will be the right to healthcare that is substandard at a high price.

The insurance companies rights are the only thing that has been cemented into the process so far. Everything else can be eroded. It's not what you think and I'm not giving you the Republican line. It's a Trojan horse.

Well, that didn't take long to self destruct.

Not much of a legacy there. I guess you got all your gay stuff but that was really a state's rights/constitution issue.

Still it's not impeachable except for all the NSA stuff which hasn't got sufficient momentum yet.

Action conveniently taken before the upcoming 2014 congressional elections, with the mandate to resume/begin/take effect on 1 January 2015.

Obama Gets Last Laugh on Health Law
By Chris Stirewalt
Published July 03, 2013
"Without an enforcement mechanism, there is no mandate. It's just a political talking point."
-- Then-Sen. Barack Obama quoted by NBC News attacking Sen. Hillary Clinton’s health-insurance proposal in a press briefing in Littleton, N.H., Nov. 26, 2007.
With midterm elections shaping up as another disaster for Democrats, President Obama has ordered another delay in the implementation of his signature health law.
And in keeping with his policy and political aims, the president has ordered another helping of dessert before the vegetables are served.
Obama has opted to give employers another year to dump health-insurance for workers before federal penalties built into his 2010 health law go into effect.

...and then there is this...

Hours before delaying Obamacare, Sebelius spent $32 million on it
BY PAUL BEDARD | JULY 3, 2013 AT 3:25 PM
In the hours leading up to the administration's surprise decision Tuesday to delay implementation of Obamacare, the president's team gave no indication of the course reversal, in a way hiding it by spending $32 million on children's health care and announcing plans to expand the PR campaign.
One example: three and a half hours before notifying the public of the change in a Treasury Department blog post, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius held a conference call with reporters to announce a $32 million spending program to enroll poor and immigrant kids into the Children's Health Insurance Program.
"Every child in America should have access to the quality health care that they need," she said, giving no hint that Obamacare, which supplied the $32 million, was about to be sidelined.
What's more, she talked about how Obamacare's insurance exchanges were going to kick in on time "this fall."

Well, you can't have everything all ways. In other parts of this forum they say "blame Congress" for the deficiencies of this presidency, like the spying on Americans in direct violation of their Constitutional rights.. Now we discover that this American King president can arbitrarily implement any law, or any provision of a law that Congress mandates.

They say he was a Constitutional law professor once. I wonder if he remembers that provision about "equal protection under the law". I imagine those poor bastards (mostly young, healthy people) will be pretty upset, that one provision has been erased, due to political expediancy, but not the one that makes them pay through the nose. He\s either extremely ignorant (stupid really), which I don't discount, or he'll try anything to take away the focus from his unconstitutional invasions of privacy by a fully funded instrument of the state.

The right wing continues to try to sabotage Obamacare. That's a crying shame, and in the long run, they won't succeed in their goal of trashing it. Morally speaking their tactic is atrocious because they have NOTHING to replace it.

It was a smart political decision. So what? His opposition is brutal and not actually interested in health care, only in demonizing Obama.

Anyway, Obamacare is not dead, regardless of the mean spirited hopes of the right wing who are happy to see poor and sick people just suffer and die without even basic health care:

Delaying part of the Affordable Care Act is not a death knell

While it may have been a swarmy political decision, it is also a violation of his oath of office to uphold the laws of the US.

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) called for the mandate on ALL citizens and corporations to start on 1 January 2014, NOT 1 January 2015. That is a violation of an existing law passed by both Democratically controlled Houses of Congress and signed into law by a Democratic President, all in the dark of night.

You're getting a little carried away with the melodrama there on the "poor and sick people" suffering. They will stil get their free medical care and other free stuff as long as Obama is in office.

The right wing didn't make the decision to delay the mandate until after the next election.

Are you saying the "right wing" sold him the gun he keeps shooting himself in the foot with? As Dylan sang "It's not dark yet, but it's getting there".

Since when has the Obama administration been concerned about petty little considerations like that?

Both Democrats.

Both failures.

But this one didn't have the good manners not to run for a second term.

When is he going to close Gitmo?

According to the top US economist, David M Walker, former general of GAO,

the most irresponsible President of all time was Bush JR.

Presume you mean the Winter Olympics in Sochi (Russia) 2014, rather than the next Summer Olympics in Rio (Brazil) in 2016.

Or has Roussef really upset the USA recently?

According to the top US economist, David M Walker, former general of GAO,

You might want to check the record on what the good Mr. Walker claimed.

Compare the first five years of Bush against the first five years of Obama and see which is the more profligate and has affected the national debt the most.

Rest assured i have been watching most if not all of David M Walker's speaches,

and encourage all americans to do so.

I also encourage nominate him as the next president, regardless of what political hole you've dug yourself into.

My my my the community organizer is really on a pickle with Syria. I am surprised he did not hire "cant we all just get along" Rodney King to be Secretary of State. Putin is obviously in awe of Obama as are all the other leaders in the Middle East. The first time on modern history that no dictator fears the POTUS.

The odds on him being impeached must be shortening by the minute.

Indeed. laugh.png

The odds on him being impeached must be shortening by the minute.

That's simply daft. Impeached based on what?

Less than one percent chance Obama will be impeached.

The hostility expressed here towards Obama is disturbing.

Complete ignorance often manifests itself in the expression of similar thought.

Closed little minds have little or no potential for meaningful change.

Unfortunately, often countries are led by people with these same little minds.

Then.....

Look out, gooses stepping is on its way.

The odds on him being impeached must be shortening by the minute.

One would hope so, but as with the film 'The untouchables' getting something to stick is tricky when the MSM are running interference on his behalf. Hopefully the seemingly unimpeachable will be taken down soon before he takes the U.S. with him.

Looks like he's taking the US with him now.

No budget approval, 700,000 government employees on unpaid leave and the markets are in disaray.

And all the world's leading snake-oil salesman has to do is to say

"OK, I stole Hilary Clinton's Health Care scheme, screwed around with it so that it would cost twice as much, then got all you idiots to approve it. Now I will cancel it and leave you all without any health-care facilities."

And he'll get his budget approved (without the Obamacare bit, of course)

He has totally screwed up America.

the topic/title of this thread is nothing but pure unrefined rubbish!

Of course it is and I am still waiting for one of its proponents to actually give me the odds on an impeachment. To be settled in Bitcoins...whoops maybe not now after the library bust.

that might be correct but doesn't warrant a silly thread topic containing "impeachment".

i'm thinking of opening a thread "Will enhanced Maccaroni consumption in Israel block Iran's nuclear ambitions?"

In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, there is a main road called 'Maccaroni Street'. It leads nowhere.

Considering the Benghazi cover up, the IRS scandal and so forth, impeachment does not all that far out.

In London there is as street called Bond Avenue just behind the SIS (MI6) building in Vauxhall.....this is going nowhere!
