Sms Messaging Attachments

Featured Replies

I and my wife have android phones with ais simcard when we try to send SMS with attachments only the tex shows.

All help welcome

Can you describe, in more detail, exactly what it is you are trying to do? SMS is really just a bare-bones text-only (160 characters but multiple SMSes can be 'bundled") service.

If you both have Android phones, and assuming you have data plans, a "free" messaging app. like Line, Viber, WhatsApp!, et al might be a better solution.

OK I have probably got this all wrong but here goes.

On any ordinary non internet phone which I had I could take a picture with phone and send it with TeX message job done.

That's what I am trying to do touch message icon on this phone add a picture etc and send it all seems to go well the sending TeX comes up but the attached photo doesn't go only the TeX and if you look later at message it's still sending.

I have no data plan on either phone only house Wi-Fi I didn't think I would need one to send TeX and attachments same as my old steam phones

OK, I think you were sending what is called a Multi-media Message or MMS.

You will have to configure an APN on your phone to send MMSes on the AIS/One-2-Call network.

MMSes do use GPRS or EDGE data, but you only pay the fee for the MMS (~ 5 baht per) which covers the cost of the data.

You should try WhatsApp! which requires a SIM to sign up, but then you can use WiFi for messaging. Sending a picture with WhatsApp! is easy, and free (over your own WiFi). Of course it may be simpler to just walk across the room and show your wife the picture? wink.png
