Additional info to scooty,s

A german guy staying at City Lodge was attacked from behind , had his bag cut off and was cut on his head, ear and wrist, possibly caused during the chaos and struggling that ensued.

A Thai man wai,d him from the front to stop him, he automatically paused to wai back and was then kicked at the back of the knee to make him fall, then a gang jump on him and the above took place.

He was taken to the hospital and was detained for 1 week before he could be released.

The police told him several gangs where working around the Robinson complex and also around

Non Prajak Park after dark

They also said they had arrested several suspects but as scooty was not able to mentioned any specific date, i cannot tie the 2 incidents up to confirm if the police have got them off the streets as of now.

The German was attacked just over 2 weeks ago and he was told of the arrests one week later before leaving hospital.

This means just over a week since the said arrests, if the police are correct.

As scooty says, be careful out there and do not walk out alone in dodgy areas.

Get a Samlow instead of walking if it,s dark, dull or a quiet area.

I,ve been here 7 years and this is the first time i,ve heard tourists have been targeted so hope fully it will soon be cleared up.

Don,t let it put you off Udon and the area as it really is safe when you compare it to most cities

around the world.

Common sense is all you need.
