No Hastles Water Filter For Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi

I came accross this water jug - http://www.alkaway.com.au/products-fill2pure-water-jug.html

You just fill with water and put in the fridge. Works out at 12cents .. about 3 baht per litre. Im just wondering if this would be suitable for Thai tap water? I want something to use in my condo so i dont have big plastic water bottles lying around the place. This doesnt need any plumbing and its an international brand.

Is this going to protect me from Thai water lol?

Also im interested to know if tap water in chiang mai has fluoride added?

THanks

it all depends how highly you value your health.

I value my health.

Ive got a small 2 bed condo which i own in chiang mai. I dont want large water bottles lying around the place so i need a filter system.

Can you/anyone suggest a system that does not leave unsightly blue waterpipes all over the place. That will filter all contaminents. I want to remove all fluoride and mercury from the water also. Ive read reports of bottled water in Thailand containing added fluoride - especially the nestle and singha brands. Im unsure if CM water has added fluoride.

At the moment i have a small water bottle (fill2pure - not the jug the800ml bottle). It removes 99.99 and its also got the advanced filter that is iodised and kills all viruses. Its not ideal for at home because you cant pour water out of it for cooking (it works like a straw).

Thanks

As you want to remove fluoride and other minerals as well as bacteria, use a reverse osmosis device. I've seen ones that fit onto a tap and aren't too large. (larger than a simple water jug, but still not too big).
